I've kept my older mare at Iron Gait Ranch since 2013, and it's become a second home. I've met so many wonderful people there, owners included, who take such good care of her. There are pasture options and private pen options- both of which I have done and both have wonderful advantages. The horses in paddocks are grouped by personality type, and this experience allows the horse to be with other horses in a more natural environment with social ties, free choice hay, and a shelter option. This is what I did when I first arrived and for years after, and I noticed a positive change in her immediately. Horses need to be horses and have a life outside a stall to be happy creatures. The private pen has been wonderful for the last year because it's large enough for free movement, dry with good footing, and offers my horse the shelter she loves when weather moves in. She also has the ability to socialize and decide when she's had enough of socializing. The private pens have ample openness for horses to interact with their neighbors and move around, but gives them ability back-off and be alone when they want to- exactly what my lowly, weather-sensitive senior needs these days. No, IGR does not have an indoor arena at this time. I honestly don't miss it at all since Colorado is such a dry state, even in winter. There is an arena, a round pend, and a HUGE back field to ride and graze in that no other facility has the likes of (my favorite part). It's also close riding distance to Stanley Lake which I ride to regularly and a short drive to the Indiana Equestrian Center and open space parks. There are periodic vet clinics for vaccinations and also a *fantastic* reasonably-priced farrier (Joe McClellan of Iron Horse Hoof Care) who also boards his horses there (you CAN bring in your own vet and farrier). For a fee, there are feeding plans and blanketing. The horses are checked often for issues and notices of their overall well-being are posted on social media and in emails when weather comes in. The care you receive here is top notch and has never faltered in that regard. I've seen other facilities in the area, and honestly, nothing compares. The owners have separated due to differences, but through the process, have maintained that high level of care we've become accustomed to. Monique and Nick are both wonderful, knowledgeable, caring people I would trust my horse to any time. I hope IGR is around for many years to come.

My home away from home. Though I no longer board here due to going away to college. I can say my 2 years here where the most peaceful. Beautiful facility. Nick, the owner has done an amazing job. I saw this place before he bought it and he has done quit the job. All 3 of my mares that stayed there got the best quality care. By far the best boarding facility in the Denver metro area. Great rates as well! Be sure to check this place out! I can tell you that if Monique Santilli is running the place I will not be returning. I find the constant drama with her a hinder to my peaceful time with my horses.

I have been at Iron Gait Ranch since 3/2016. Originally I moved two horses in. Both geldings were happy and well taken care of. I lost my older boy in June. The support I received from the staff and boarders at the ranch was above and beyond. A large arena, locking tack rooms, trailer parking, access to Standley Lake trails, quality feed and care. Nick goes above and beyond. If you are looking for a smaller, quiet barn with a bunch of quality folks, this is the place.

In April of 2013 we were looking for a new home for our horses. We looked all over the Arvada/Westminster area and stumbled upon Iron Gait Ranch. Nick was very thorough in his first conversation with us and very honest about the expectations of the ranch. His first concern was the horses and providing the best place he could for them. Nick and Monique live on-site and have 3 of their own horses also on the property so the ranch is more than a business, it is personal. Hay is tested and results are posted so all can be aware of the food their horses are eating. Health clinics are offered on a regular basis, worming rotations are regulated (and they worm your horse if you want), horses are monitored all the time to ensure they are at their best, etc. IGR goes above and beyond, like no other, to ensure the horses are healthy and happy in every way they can. This was proven to use last December when one of our horses started to colic. My son had just left the ranch 15 minutes early and received a call from Nick saying he should come back as the horse was showing some signs of distress. The next 5 hours were spent trying to save our horse. Nick and Monique helped us walk our horse, helped called vets (it seemed every vet in the area was busy and couldn't come out) and never left our side. When we finally got a vet out, they honored our privacy but were still right by our side. The decision was made to put our horse down and Nick made sure we had a private place to say goodbye. I might add that the temperature was around 10-15 degrees during this whole time. Nick and Monique treated us as family not as a boarder! They shared our loss and gave their unending support! Since we first arrived on the ranch, there have been improvements: new paddocks, new fences, new tack barn, full size arena, and heated water tanks just to name a few. There are more improvements planned but even with those, I know that that family friendly environment will not be lost. From Halloween parties to a Christmas photo (including many of the boarders), we love to call the ranch our home away from home. I can't imagine a better home for our 4 legged family member and a fun place for us to spend our time!
