Dr. Shamma and his staff provided my wife and I with a terrible experience. The name, IVF Michigan, may be all that you need to know. My wife and I went to Dr. Shamma in a vulnerable state, unable to become pregnant. Dr. Shamma ran a series of tests and point blank told us that our only real option was IVF (at a price tag of around $15,000). Despite our desire for pregnancy we asked for a second opinion. The urologist that I spoke with looked at the data provided by tests ran by Dr. Shamma and told us that we should seek help from a different infertility doctor. The urologist told us, rather bluntly, that Dr. Shamma has a reputation in the field of providing incomplete information to patients in an attempt to push them toward expensive IVF treatments. From there we went to an infertility doctor in Michigan (who was also fairly blunt about Dr. Shamma's reputation) who took the time to further diagnose. We had a simple surgical procedure, and became naturally pregnant a few months later. Dr. Shamma seems to take people in a vulnerable state, and push them toward IVF regardless of if it is medically necessary. Heartbreaking experience. Despite the lack of options in NW Ohio I strongly suggest pursuing options in Michigan. Btw our baby is due in September!
