I sub-contract for an HVAC company as well as an electrical contractor in the Auburn, Grass Valley area. I have never seen such a POORLY installed disconnect in my LIFE. I was called out to perform a HVAC service on a client in the Auburn area with what turned out to be a dirty condenser issue. Upon arrival the customer mentioned that there disconnect had CAUGHT ON FIRE and that JB Electric had been out to the residence to replace the disconnect. Due to the rarity of such fire in a fused disconnect I wanted to check the wiring to make sure that the problem was not related to the current issue and much to my dismay the disconnect was so poorly installed that even after I finished cleaning the coils I told the customer that I could not in good conscience leave the unit with the disconnect connected to the mains. I explained to the customer the issue with the electrical disconnect. I also attached to this review is some picture that I took of the issues that I could immediately see. Numerous code violations were made in this install. All of which are notated in the attached images, and to top it all off the customer told me that the "contractor" had charged him in excessive amount of money for this simple install. I would NOT recommend this electrician for any service biased off what I have seen. His work is UNSAFE and in my clients case could have cost my clients there house or worse.

In the days where customer service isn't the norm, it's really refreshing to find a company like JB Electric. Andy was dispatched to replace the meter load center at my home after the previous unit had literally burned up.

He was quick, professional, responsive, and above all, cared about me as a customer. He made sure that all my questions were answered. He got the job completed early and under budget.

Absolutely wonderful company to work with.

I spent a week troubleshooting electrical issues that suddenly started happening in our house in Placerville, but after going through every inch of wire, every outlet and  crawl space, I finally gave up and called Andy at the recommendation of my real estate agent, who recently had brought him in to do some extensive work for a client.  I was afraid this was going to be a big, expensive, inconvenient project, and wanted to make sure I got an honest evaluation.

Not only did Andy figure out what was going on in about five minutes, but he was great to work with.  He was about as friendly and professional as you could hope for, went the extra mile (literally), came in over the weekend, and really seemed to care about making this a painless process for us.  It was a complicated project, but not for me. Plus, he came in under his original estimate, which is always a nice bonus.  I would definitely recommend JB Electric to a friend.

We have been using JB Electric for years and have always been 100% satisfied with their work and customer service so I was very surprised to see a negative review for them on Google, which is why I am leaving a positive review for them. You would have to be a mental midget to not get along with Andy as he is very friendly and personal. Any talks to you like a normal person and is not at all pushy. Their prices are beyond fair, however if you are looking for the lowest price you need to call someone else. Quality and dependable work doesn't come from the lowest bidder. 

Kirsten & Andy continually go out of their way to make sure we are 100% satisfied. Our latest project was to install a 20,000 watt GE standby generator. They project managed the entire installation which turned out fantastic. A very stress free transaction. Will recommend and use them for years to come.

Recently my wife and I hired this company to install electrical lighting in our kitchen.  The first project while a simple procedure of changing ballasts with new ones ended up with lighting that turned on and off at will. JB Electric did not correct the problem nor did they seem to understand why the problem wasn't fixed. To remedy the first problem they performed work installing recessed fixtures then billed for questionable work I had no idea they were charging for. When confronted with the over charge all I was told was they would file a lien if I did not like it. The work left our kitchen dirty and some holes larger than the recessed lighting containers installed.  Hard to work with owners. We will not use this company in the future.
