I like this place, my Wife loves it. Meaty, cheesy subs. The fried mushrooms dipped in ranch are the best and she likes the fries with cheese poured over them. The menu has a good variety. The interior quaint, kind of like a grungy bar. Service is good, the interior is lively. It's pretty much a Wilmington legend.

The main reason I went through Wilmington on my bike trip was to stop to eat. It had been 20 years since my last Cheese Steak and fried Mushrooms at J Michaels and it was Well worth it. Great food and great service. It was like walking back in time. It will be one of my yearly trips to visit again. Thanks for the shirt and great hospitality.

Favorite restaurant in Wilmington. It's a must have when we visit our home town.  I highly recommend it. The fried mushrooms are AMAZING!!!

Food was amazing....however our waitress brought us our drinks, and we never saw her again for up to 40 minutes.  We were about to get up and leave before another nice waitress came by and took over.  She was very apologetic that we were never properly waited on, and she treated us like royalty (gave us a discount and free drinks).  

Even after that experience, I would still go here to eat.

Great Philly inspired sandwich shop in Wilmington.  We always stop in at J Mikes when we are in the Wilmington area. Try the Pizza Philly Cheese steak.  It is to die for!
