This is a fantastic and thoughtful historical site, respectfully presenting the history of the Jamestown settlers and Powhatan natives they encountered. The reconstructions are well done, the reenactments are accurate, and the exhibits in the museum proper are tasteful and thought provoking. I wish I had spent more time here, but my whole family enjoyed it and I suspect we will be back. I would recommend at least a full day here if you have it. More would be better.

Jamestown Settlement is a combination traditional museum and living history reenactment of the original Jamestown colony. The property is adjacent to Jamestown Island, not on the actual site of the original colony, but pretty close. The interpretive indoor and outdoor displays are remarkably well done, as are the reenactors dressed in period costume. Plan on spending the better part of a day to get the most out of the experience. It's well worth the admission price. Area residents get free admission, so it's worth asking when purchasing tickets if you qualify.

This was an amazing place for my family to visit. Very hands on for my three kids. Exploring and asking so many questions to the live actors at the settlement. I only wish we'd had more time to see the indoor museum section. Take.your kids, they'll love it even if they don't care for history. Because it's so interesting, fun, and engaging..., they will unknowingly and automatically get some history out by the sheer experience of this place. Loved it!

I was so pressed with the staff. Very knowledgeable and friendly. They made education fun and shared interesting facts. The three replica ships are well cared for. Beautiful grounds and building.

Such a cool place to spend an afternoon. I loved the replica sailing ship that you can board and walk around on. People were much smaller back then and I would not want to be on that thing in bad weather. The settlement itself shows what life was like 100's of years ago and it was very eye opening. Wouldn't want to live like that either! I guess I am a modern girl!
