Bankruptcy proceeding went through without a hitch.  In Santa Barbara District Court, multiple cases from different attorneys were rejected or documents were returned for modification.  All Janet Lawson cases heard on the day that I went to court sailed through and were approved without any modifications.  This attorney is knowledgeable and highly competent, as well as charging a reasonable fee.  Thanks Janet.

She gets the job done.  At first I was put off by Janet's abrupt attitude and her unwillingness to schedule phone calls, but I suppose if she didn't have these characteristics, she wouldn't be able to get anything done.  However, I have found that she replies promptly to e-mails and seems to know the business very well.  She has given me great advice, especially regarding scams, and in all my appointments with her she has been attentive and anxious to make sure my questions were answered to my satisfaction.  She has never made me feel as if she was in a hurry to get me out of her office.  Her staff has also been very friendly and anxious to please.  It is a little disconcerting that her office seems cluttered and there are dogs everywhere, but I'm sure if I could take my dog with me to work, I certainly would.

Janet Lawson is very unprofessional.  Her office is completely disorganized, and there is usually a dog sitting in her office with her (I'm a dog-lover, but I don't expect to see this in a lawyer's office).  She is not nice to talk with, and during our talk she waved at me to shut up a few times, and so I did not get to ask my questions.  She does not give you much personal attention, and she seems intent on handling as many cases as possible to make as much money as possible.  I did not enjoy dealing with her.  I will say this, her price is very low.  So if you have little money, she might be a good person to deal with if you can get past the poor presentation of herself, and the rude way she treats you.

I highly recommend Janet Lawson as a bankruptcy attorney.  She's very reasonably priced, very knowledgeable and nice to work with.  She understands what you're going through and makes it as painless as possible!
