I gave this location 2 stars although I did not go with this option-

When I met the owner she was very sweet and kind. The day I requested to meet her she was unavailable as it was actually her birthday so I specifically drove from San Diego, to Los Angeles and spent the night in Los Angeles to meet her the next day early in the morning. 

The cake itself was yummy, the perfect amount of moisture, and the perfect hint of sweetness.  

Communicating with Jacqui was easy! 

Now you ask why I gave only 2 stars: 

While my wedding is 4 months away, Jacqui requested a deposit. I do not live in LA and my grandfather way diagnosed with Cancer. For 1.5 months I was flying back and forth from San Diego (where I live ) to Philadelphia (Where my Grandma lives) in an out of the hospital and while I was gone I had a sibling who mistakenly called "Susie's Cakes" to reserve instead of Jacqui's cakes.  When I called Jacqui to clear this up she was a bit cold and did not seem to be sympathetic at all. 

Jacqui actually told me she will not make my wedding cake because she did not receive my payment via mail 4 business days later. Ironically that morning I called Jacqui's cakes and it seemed like I called to early as nobody answered and I was calling to find out who I should make the check out to. 

Once Jacqui declined to make my cake (I was beyond appalled) she then suggested we go to Gelsons Supermarket to get our wedding cake. I was not only embarrassed but at a loss for words. 

I was pretty excited to support a small business and have such a personal touch with Jacqui's cake for our wedding but given the sequence of events, the owner's insensitivity, and the outcome I am not only upset but extremely disappointed.

Jaqki makes the best cakes, I've been coming here for 21years. She is a lovely woman as well. You can't go wrong when ordering a cake here.

Way way overpriced I paid $75 for a small cake way overpriced and the quality was not worth $75.

Jaqki is amazing and so are her cakes. I made an appointment to come in for cake tasting one morning with my cousin. We came in sat down, I shot some flavors at her she brought them all out for us to taste (big pieces mind you so that you can taste the yummy flavors) they were absolutely amazing. Also since it was morning she even made us coffee. Going forward 2 months later to the wedding the cake was absolutely beautiful! I cant thank Jaqki enough for working with me and making the whole cake thing so easy. If you are looking for a good price and someone that will work with you and not rip you off along with beautiful and yummy cakes Jaqki's Cakes is the place. Thank you so much Jaqki!!!

My husband and I were married at the beautiful Kyoto Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles April 1st, and found Jaqki's Cakes as a referral from our photographer, Eugene Photography.  The owner, Jaqki, was extremely helpful and friendly and her prices were right in our comfort zone so I made an appointment to go to her store.  When I got there, the cakes she had on display were beautiful, and the piece of cake she gave me to sample was delicious!!  So we booked her for our wedding and we are so glad we did!!  Our wedding cake was absolutely beautiful!!  She nailed my vision right on the head!!  She was very professional from start to finish, and our cake was not only a work of art (additional thanks to the gorgeous flowers added to it by Flowers By Dan), but it was so good our guests went back for seconds!!  I highly recommend Jaqki's Cake Creations for your wedding or any other party you may need a cake for!!
