Their customer service has been one of the worst and one of the best. It seems to depend on who you happen to communicate with. 
I was able to prove to two associates that a sign was wrong and misprinted by taking previous sale cards out from behind the current one and was not given the sale price until I asked for upper management. 
This same product was defective and when I returned to JCP one of the two associates mentioned above was at the service area when I brought it back and she said, as I quote, "All that fuss for nothing." NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Luckily, another associate handled my exchange. If it wasn't for my great experience during the exchange I would have rated my experience as one star.

WORKER ARE SO RUDE .. I CAME HERE TO HET MY KIDS A COUPLE OUTFITS EACH AND BECAUSE I WAS PICKING OUT NIKE CLOTHES ND THE MORE EXPENSIVE CLOTHES I STARTED TO GET FOLLOWED AROUND I DIDNT MIND BECAUSE I WASNT DOING ANYTHING WRONG .. THEN AS IM GETTING READY TO CHECK OUT I NOTICE 2 SECURITY GUARDS FOLLOWING .. THATS WHAT PISTED ME OFF SO I TURNED AROUND AND WENT AND ASKED WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND HE SAYS"WHAT YOU MEAN IM JUST STANDING HERE" SO I STARTED WALKING AND THERE THEY BOTH WERE SO I PUSHED MY CART AWAY .. IM NOT GOING TO SPEND MY MONEY WHERE IM HARASSED!

Went to return a sweater I ordered online. I came just as they were opening up, and the sales associate audibly sighed when she saw me at her register. I explained I wanted to return the sweater, and she told me, "I can't help you, it's not my job." I went upstairs to where I picked it up in store, and they were more than happy to help me, but the response I got from the first associate I encountered totally ruined my experience here.

I had a great experience with Riley - one of the shoe sales associates. I was stuck having to take the display pair of shoes, so he offered 10% off, and then without me even asking he used a 15% off coupon that JCP apparently had but I didn't know about it. It was really sweet to see someone actually care about the customer as opposed to making a corporate giant a few more dollars.
