Alexandria's Pre-K through 8th grade school, offering the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Middle Years Programme and Primary Years Programme.
Jefferson-Houston School is located on the west side of Alexandria's Old Town, near the King Street Metro Station. The school is dedicated to two prominent Americans: Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States, and Charles Hamilton Houston, lawyer and humanitarian, who was a pioneer in the movement to integrate the District of Columbia Public Schools. The school is known for its dedicated teaching staff, its academic initiatives, and its strong community ties. Our school symbol is the "Jaguar" and our school colors are burgundy and tan. The original school building was built in 1970. It was replaced by a new, state-of-the-art building in September 2014.
Every Student Succeeds
