Story

Jimmy Changas is a family of soon-to-be four, full-service Fresh. Mex. Fun. restaurants around the greater Houston area. Jimmy Changas opened in 2011 with the a passion for Tex-Mex and a fun playground, “Jimmy’s Jungle”, for the kids. We are open daily Sunday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. Cool playground for your kids, although most of the time the kids are crazy and not watched by their parents. Free ice cream is the bomb! The food is pretty good too. Love the free chips and sauce. One employee should do nothing but hand it out. Maybe a conveyor belt to circle around all the tables. Now that'd be cool.

Sunday we came to have lunch at Jimmy Changas in League City and were not pleased with the service we received. There was a wait for a table, which is to be expected on a Sunday afternoon. Once seated we gave our order and that is where it all fell apart. Other couples and families were seated well after us & got their food while we sat with an empty chip basket and not food. Our waiter never came back to offer drink refills or anything. Were we forgotten? Then a nice young lady came to ask how everything was... it sucked because we didn't have our food yet and other people that were seated well after us were half way done eating. She hurried off... Another female came around to asked how we were we told her our situation. She hurried off. Finally, our waiter came to apologize for the kitchen not having our order ready yet and to refill our empty glasses. Then our food finally came- my boyfriend's was steaming hot--- mine was ice cold. Not even warm! The original female that came to visit our table came by to see how it was. We let her know we were glad our meal finally arrived but mine was stone cold. She offered to have my plate redone but heck no! Long story short- They gave us our meal for 1/2 price and a gift card for $20 off our next visit. I'm guessing my boyfriend's dish was forgotten and mine was sitting waiting to be picked up. Once the guys realized the mistake his food was made and they brought it out--- Hence, the delay and mine being ice cold. Since we are a fan of Jimmy Changas (aka The Monkey Place) we will return. Especially, since we have the gift card. This visit was totally not the norm for this location and I'm glad the management staff stepped in and did their best to correct the mistake.

Nice family friendly place. I loved the food. Portions were very good. Very friendly waiters. Free ice cream :-) Nice playing area outside for kids.

I have now been here multiple times. Only the first time was by choice. This is extremely average TexMex. They seem to care more about the kids play area and it being loud inside than the food or service. Service has been very slow each time I've been here. Prices are too high for the quality of the food. I'm not a huge fan of their other venture Gringo's, but I do like Gringo's better overall. Search for one of the many, smaller Tex Mex places around this area and go there instead. This place is great if you don't want to hear the people around you talk, hear kids screaming and running around and overpay for average food and slow service.

We were greeted and quickly seated when we arrived. We had a fantastic server named Jennifer who was quick, friendly, and excellent at meeting our every need. The manager, Robert, was kind to visit our table and he was diligent at checking on us to make sure our experience was nothing short of superior! We highly recommend this location! The food was great, the service was wonderful, and the experience was memorable!
