This is a small family run joint near Baruch College. It has the best General Tso’s Chicken I’ve had in a long time—not since Red Hot in Park Slope now closed. At $13.50 with a can of soda, you can’t beat it in Manhattan.Food: 5/5
An ok noodle house. Nothing to write home about but the prices are reasonable. I ordered noodle soup with fish and pickled vegetables. The vegetables were 3 baby bok choy and some overcooked pieces of kale or seaweed. The fish was a whole fish but with very little meat on it. It was $14.00Food: 4/5
This was my first time here yesterday. My friend was coming to move furniture with me in the area and was hungry. On the way to get the car he asked for food options. I brought him through the area because third avenue and Baruch’s campus is full of food options that are on the more affordable side of things. We weren’t looking to spend much money and come to Jimmy’s House and looked at the menu. We figured it would work and ordered some pineapple chicken rice. We then had to leave and weren’t able to eat our food for about two hours. It held up well and didn’t make the car smell at all which is always a plus! The place itself is good for a quick place to grab food and go or eat there with only a few friends as it’s not a place where you are waited on. I do like the food and options they have so I would come back.
Loved the white meat sesame chicken! It was less breaded than most other restaurants, very flavorful with big juicy pieces. : definitely a highlight because I think it must be healthier than most other restaurants. They use different/thinner noodles for their lo mein. It thought it was tasty! I ordered beef and it had onions and cabbage. It was giving me Shanghai vibes for sure. Also, lovely staff! We got to conversing and had a nice time here. We ate here to have everything fresh! Would recommend it :
Had the best Chinese food here! Jimmy was a great host and recommended the soup dumplings, potstickers, 3 pepper chicken and other sides for lunch. Great quality and authentic flavors- I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in NYC!
Super tasty Chinese food and decently priced! The owner is super sweet and treats all his customers very kindly. My personal favorite is the spare ribs over rice.
Decent Chinese American restaurant next to Baruch College. Not sure their trick to get the string beans so tasty but its pretty crisp and flavorful. Note that if you are a rice junky, they only give you white rice in 12oz coffee cups so you might want to order an extra. Guilty pleasures satisfied.Dine in: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
Bacon Chicken Fried Rice and the Mei Fun were delicious. Would definitely order and eat here again. Staff was very friendly and helpful.Food: 5/5
This restaurant is run by an older Asian couple who are very prompt and friendly, they never fail to give great service even though they are more of a takeout place. I really suggest the Cumin beef, they pack it with onions and great seasoning.Food: 5/5
My new favorite spot for quick but delicious lunch. I didn’t bother trying this place until a Chinese friend of mine suggested my bf and I to try it and the food here turned out to be our favorite! The dishes we ordered were the pork with bones and the chicken with rice. Both were amazing and rice portion was more than enough for our day. We came back immediately the next day and for sure we will keeping coming back again because it’s located right next door to our campus.
