Came here because of a Google review that described it as unpretentious. And that's the perfect word for it. Great food. Walk in and sit down and see all the work being done around you. They treat you well. Great experience.

A friend who is a Joe's regular took me to breakfast at Joe's years ago. It was a well worn and grungy little spot with a counter and some tables. To me, those are not necessarily bad things. The food was fine; it's hard to really screw up a breakfast. But even before my visit, Joe's has obviously been a place that has a small, loyal clientele, and all others enter at your own risk. That attitude has leaked outside of it's grungy interior and into the neighborhood as Joe's has waged a 15 year literal turf war involving the parking spaces in front of their business. Shabby five gallon buckets with poles, bits of plastic chain and shreds of rope attempt to define the sacrosanct piece of asphalt in front of the storefront that is for Joe's customers only. I have a friend who recently thought she'd try Joe's for the first time with her 6 y/o son, and before she could turn her ignition off, was greeted with a palm slapped on her door window and told she could not park there, Obviously, she chose to have breakfast with her son somewhere else. I honestly can't understand how even the regulars can accept behavior like that.

Great spot. No frills or fancies, just old fashioned breakfast with no nonsense. This place has soul and character you don't often find on the mainline. A good old fashioned bacon, egg and cheese.

Want your food with a side order of racism and false patriotism? Then by all means have a chat with the owner, Marty. He lives his life as if the Civil Rights Movement never happened. When things are busy not a peep out of him, when things are slow and its him and some of his select regulars get ready for the vitriol to flow. If your not a "patriot" or you have a differing opinion the only facts that count are the one sided facts that Marty has. Best not say anything that makes him look like the fool that he is or he will take it personally. While the bargain prices for his food look good, be prepared to swallow your pride.
