Great dive bar. Great staff

I attempted to enter that bar in January 2009 when I was stationed at Fort Drum. I was denied entry at the door because I didn't have a NY identification. I had my Texas license and military ID and the doorman told me that only locals were allowed in. I noticed many soldiers in there, even some from unit. I'm from Texas where many races live including Hispanics such as myself. There's actually a concept where not all of us are illegal immigrants from Mexico. Most Hispanics from Texas are from Texas with our ancestors being from the same land when it was originally Mexico. So to say the least, Joe's Tavern is the most racist and degrading bar I've ever had an encounter with.

Local bar friendly, very reasonable. Great place to go and have a couple where you are welcomed. Family owned for many many many moons.
