As a senior student at UCF I had been very pleased with the library staff up until today. I am currently a handicapped student and am not able to walk and need to have my leg propped up if I am to sit down. My roommate whom i usually study with was not able to make it and reserved it for me knowing my situation. Knowing there might be a complication because i had not reserved the room myself i went to the front desk assuming they would be understanding to handicapped students. I was told that there was no way that I would be able to get into the room and that this was UCF policy and under no circumstances do they adapt and make exceptions for anybody even handicapped students. The room is still currently locked and appears to not even be used during the time frame i needed it for. I just really hope that UCF can make exceptions for students that are handicapped in the future and that they are not further inconvenienced then they already are. To add insult to injury as i was walking looking for a place to study I dropped my folder in front of a different UCF circulation desk and my papers went flying everywhere. The people at the desk literally watched the entire event transpire and not once did they come to help or ask if i needed any as i was struggling for what felt like forever to corral all of my belongings. I have come to the conclusion that the UCF library staff aside from Carlos Gonzales, who helped me find a table where i could stretch my leg out, does not care about their handicapped students. Luckily, ill be graduating soon and won't have to deal the library again i just really hope that UCF can adapt and be more kind and helpful to their handicapped students.

Pros: -Coffee shop right in the library which is great -Every floor (except the 2nd and sometimes 3rd) is usually pretty quiet -Good hours (on weekdays at least) Cons: -Too many people treat the 2nd floor like a place to hang out and have loud personal conversations, this occasionally extends to the third floor too. -Not enough computers, it doesn't match the size of the student body. If you want to bring your own laptop there aren't enough outlets. -Every keyboard in the place is dirty and gross, I don't think I've ever seen them clean in the entirety of my time at UCF. -Hours are bad if it's not a weekday. They close at 7pm on Friday and Saturday and won't open until noon on Sunday... -The place is overall very outdated now and is really starting to show it's age. The carpets are filthy and peeling off the floors. The worst place is on the stairwells where it's very easy to catch your foot on loose carpet, it's an accident waiting to happen. They're finally doing some work on the place now...during finals...which has shut down the only true quiet floors...so hopefully these cons will turn into some pros soon!

I am a third year undergraduate student at Ucf who uses the library to study on a regular basis. Most of the encounters Ive had with the UCF library staff have been more than pleasant. Today I had a very unpleasant experience with "Supervisor" Adriana Neese. She was very rude when correcting an issue that I was unaware of, and even refused to correct the problem when I had asked her for help. If you need any assistance with library troubles I highly recommend asking someone else, unless you want your day to feel less than normal because of an unpleasant interaction. Overall the Ucf library is a relaxing and quiet place to study. I just wish they had more relatable supervisors. After all this Is a student affiliated place. Just a thought UCF

This library is wonderful, however the whole basement seems to never get used for the books that occupy the majority of the space.
