In 2012 my late husband Jon and I were introduced to John Locke Painting by neighbors for exterior paint work. Having moved from a condo on the east coast where each unit matched in its high-rise setting, we were concerned at what a different location of Florida would provide for a one-story house. We were certainly happy with the outcomes — a solid, fair estimate; professional workers, ALL with an eye for detail; plus a perfect color match from pink to turtle green, quite a stretch! The result was a perfect puzzle, all pieces in order, top to bottom! WE got the compliments when they should have gone to JOHN, overseeing the work. We were so pleased then, we planned to contact the company in 2016 to re-paint the interior but my husband’s illness and death took precedence. During this past fall when it came my turn, John Locke Painting repaired Irma’s “bit” of damage with the same care as before, including power washing the lanai and spray painting the cage for its screening. My husband and I always recommended John Locke Painting and I will continue to do so. John has an eye for color and definitely for detail which his workers have learned and put to use. I am happy to recommend John Locke Painting.

As a young family and new home owner we wanted to start off our new house on the right track with a fresh coat of paint throughout our home. We had a few different estimates and all were quite close to each other in price. After some deliberation and negotiation, we decided to spend a bit more and use the reputable painters in town, John Locke. Our home needed some special attention, as it had peeling paint, and with a new baby on the way wanted to rid our home of any paint chips that were falling to the floor. I paid in full up front, and the work began..and ended...in one day. One day? You were able to sand off all of the previous bad chipping and repaint our whole home in one day? Nope, no they weren't. We returned home to find the whole home painted, quite sloppily and to discover not one piece of sand paper had entered our home. Literally no, none, zilch prep work was done. So there the baseboards were, with huge chipped paint poking through where they had just simply painted over it. Also instead of using painters tape, they just sort of "eye-balled" the edges of each and every wall making very sloppy lines, no clean seems and some areas where paint had not even been taken to the edge of a wall or to meet a base board. As we continued to inspect the job, we found that several light and socket fixtures had not been removed, but simply painted around, and in some areas just painted over (we are still removing them all and soaking them in paint thinner as we go). The home looked so unprofessional and if there was a nail accidentally left in a wall, it was simply painted over as well. I had never seen anything like it in my life. We had drip marks, still chipped paint, and areas that hadn't even been completed. We contacted Rick, the representative that had done our estimate and contract, and let him know of our disappointment. We were told the crew had already spent enough time in our home and needed to be somewhere else and that it would be an additional $1000 if we wanted it completed, even though our contract included every inch of our home (walls, baseboards, trim, windows, ceilings, etc.) but most importantly, our contract included the necessary prep work that needed to be done in order to remove the chipped paint and insure no future peeling and chipping. We of course refused to pay more and after some coercing reluctantly he sent one man at a time over the course of the next 2 weeks to work on small bits of the home that needed to be redone or completed. The job is "complete" in their book, however we are left with the sloppy remains of what we intended to look clean and professional. An expensive lesson learned. Our experience has led us to believe our work was subcontracted out, otherwise if this is the work of the current John Locke painting crew, it's time to upgrade, or slow down on bidding new jobs, so the jobs they do take can be given a little more attention and care.

I have engaged many contractors and tradesmen over decades. John Locke sent a rep the same day I called to discuss the job and give an estimate. Two days later had a crew on site as promised and painted entire interior of 3 bedroom house, two coats with contrasting trim, in one day as promised. The high level of professionalism, value and quality of work was truly surprising. Absolutely outstanding!

Great company! We worked mostly with Rick & Juan who were both extremely professional. They painted our dental office in a timely and efficient manner! They allowed us to remodel our office and never miss one patient! Great job…it looks great!! I would highly recommend John Locke Painting to any office/company who desires to work with true professionals…..The doctors & staff of Walding and Associates Dental Center greatly appreciates Rick, Juan and the entire John Locke team!
