Staff was courteous, registration online made everything fast and simple. The consultation was very informative and everything was explained. The day of the surgery went very well, we were treated with respect, everything was explained both pre and post surgery. After care was explained in detail along with a typed copy in case we needed to reference the instructions. They called the next day to check on my son to make sure he was OK. I would highly recommend this business for your oral surgery needs.

Dr. Sheffer and staff are wonderful. They were able to schedule my wisdom teeth extraction one week in advance because I had a very short window of time to have the surgery and recover before the start of college classes. And when issues with my Insurance came up (on the end of the insurance company) the staff was incredibly patient and helped me resolve the issue with patience. Definitely would recommend Dr. Shaffer at Joplin Oral Surgery!

I had to have a impacted wisdom tooth removed recently. I'm not a fan of going to the dentist for small issues. Having surgery was stressful the doctor and staff made it tolerable.

Waited three months to get in for a consultation on a painful impacted wisdom tooth. 5 days before the consultation I go into my regular dentist because the pain was intolerable. My dentist gave me a course of antibiotics and tried to go ahead and pull it, as it's clearly causing me problems. Couldn't pull it, so she put a slice in my gums to drain the infection and gave me enough pain mess to get me to my consultation. My dentist assured me that Joplin Oral Surgery would help me at my appointment the following week. Fast forward to my appointment, I completed the paper work online prior to my appointment. Checked in and waited in the lobby. We waited, and waited then I received a call from Joplin oral Surgery asking why I wasn't at my appointment. I told them I am sitting in your lobby. They asked if I had completed my paper work, I said yes. They said ok the front desk must have forgot to let us know, I'm flexible so it wasn't a big deal. I was just glad to get some help for my mouth. It hurt before my dentist tried to pull it, now it is unbearable. Any way, We continued to sit in the lobby while they called two other people before us. Finally a nurse called my name. Didn't greet me or smile or apologize for the confusion and wait. Just sat me down in a chair and proceeded to ignore me for 15 more minutes while looking over my file.. Came back and said the needed an X-ray as the one I had was old. Took the X-ray without so much as a smile and sat me back in my room. The dentist finally comes in, tells me his name and then says he's going to get my quote together. A few minutes later his nurse comes back and tells me how much everything is going to costs and then tells me she will take me to the front desk to make my appointment. I asked if the dentist was going to look at my mouth, she gives me a strange look and says "if you want him to..." I said well I'm in a lot of pain and explained the appointment the week and before and reminded her that my dentist called them ahead of time. The dentist comes in and looks at my mouth for about 30 seconds and tells me there's no cut in my mouth and it must have healed already because he can't see it. I tell him I can literally put my tongue in the whole and taste blood and infection. He tells me there's nothing he can do except pull it. I literally left his office in tears. The rude nurse leads me to the front desk to make my appointment and try to explain again that I'm in pain and my dentist had called ahead and I was told they would help me. She just shrugs it off and makes me an appointment. The staff was not friendly. We waited patiently , first 3 months for this appointment , and then an hour in their lobby for them to tell me how much it's going to cost. I missed two hours of work for a "consultation". I would recommend d stay far away from this office. They are unorganized, unfriendly and unhelpful.
