Established in 1951, Joseph Fox Bookshop is a general independent bookstore in the beautiful Rittenhouse Square area of downtown Philadelphia. We may not be the biggest bookstore in the world, but we put a great deal of effort into selecting what we consider to be the very best literature, non-fiction, architecture, art, poetry, and books for children. Our knowledgeable staff can help you find the right book for the right person, and in the event that we don’t have what you need, we are happy to place special orders at no additional charge--books often arrive within two business days!
We participate in hundreds of off-site events each year as the official bookseller for author appearances at the Free Library of Philadelphia, the National Constitution Center, Friends Select School, Athenaeum of Philadelphia, and numerous other venues throughout Philadelphia. Signed First Printings from author appearances may be pre-ordered and are often available in-store after the event.
Joseph Fox Bookshop is also pleased to offer extremely competitive volume discounts on orders of 50 or more copies of the same title to individuals, institutions, businesses, and schools on a non-returnable basis.
