I've known Phil the owner for almost as long as I've lived in Boise, and he's created a great bike shop with a good vibe and culture with a Wed night group ride, very friendly and responsive service, a VERY nice inventory of bikes, components and accessories, and excellent mechanical  services.  I bought my recent bike from them and demoed several there before. The guys took the time to set up the demo's for me proper and when I made my decision I got the thumbs up on it from Phil - cuz there's so many good bikes now, it's good to have your choice reinforced and confirmed by someone who knows a little something about how to ride and race a mountain bike and a little something about how they work and how to maintain them!  I also like how they are very good at listening to and understanding what your Mountain Biking and Cycling needs are, your pricepoint, and intelligently discussing options that work for you. That helps a LOT.

At least one post on here mentioned how good Joyride is in comparison to other shops.  I'm not going to do that, or go there - each shop/business stands on its own merits. I've gotten excellent service from many shops in Boise - and SoCal (where I started riding), when I lived there - and Joyride is as good or better than any of them.   I'm glad I bought my recent bike from them and I  will be a customer and supporter of Joyride for as long as I continue to live in the Boise area.

If you've ever been to a bike shop that reminds you of the record store in High Fidelity, this place would be the opposite. Great group of guys. Definitely know their stuff, but aren't pretentious about it. Highly recommend for serious bikers and people just looking to fix up their commuters.

Brought my bike in for a new rear tube tire and wheel. After 180 dollar tab I got it back about a week later. Spokes loosened up shortly after so I brought it back into Joy Ride because up front they said all parts were guaranteed and they stood behind their work. Regardless of that they charged me for a rear wheel adjustment. A week later my rear wheel spokes came loose again and took it into Performance Bicycle instead. Apparently Joy Ride instead of using Loctite on the spokes used some type of oil. So the spokes had to be cleaned and loctite applied. Never going back to Joy Ride.

Friendly and very knowledgeable staff.  The best bike shop in Boise. Don't even bother going to the other shops if are at all serious about mountain bikes.

Great tune at a great price! Even let me use a tool to work a personal project, Phil is super cool. Come during peak time and take a look around, you'll be glad you had to wait ;)
