Amazing meal, great music playing, the chef was very friendly. The place managed to be very cozy and feel like home but with some very complex and downright delicious flavors that all combined very well. We got a vegetarian platte and a cauliflower plate.

Chef Ali is truly a gem of a person and a cook extraordinaire! The food is always fresh (yes!) and consequently his one of a kind menu is transformed on a daily basis. I work as an architect and am accustomed to bringing friends and colleagues to see his visual creations when I am looking to impress and simply show them another side of Astoria.  I can firmly say that I've been always blown away by the beauty of his meals and their extraordinary taste. On top of it, the chef is a history aficionado so you will never be bored in his company. Highly highly recommend!! 

PS if you are accustomed to take out or more generic food, this is not the place for you.

Chef Ali lives up to the foodie hype and more!  Incredible falafel sandwich with a side of culinary history and NYC conversation!!!

We had a birthday lunch here with just us and Chef Ali and it was terrific!!  Can’t recommend it highly enough.  The food was delicious and Chef Ali was so hospitalable!!
