Story

Kandahar Lodge is a lovely hotel-style 50 room lodge located 32 miles from the west entrance of Glacier National Park and ski-in at Whitefish Mountain Resort. Rates include a continental breakfast. Rooms are well appointed with down comforters, a/c, microwaves and small refrigerators. Cafe Kandahar offers one of the finest dining options for many miles - dinners only. Also provide catering for 20 or more.

If visiting Whitefish Mountain Resort, I recommend you consider staying at the Kandahar Lodge.  Built in the style of a ski lodge, it has a great lounge with leather sofas and chairs oriented towards a fireplace that, during the day in the winter, is constantly lit.

There is a large outdoor jacuzzi, and if you haven't gotten enough of a workout on the slopes or outside, there is also a fitness room.

All of the staff are uniformly friendly and extremely helpful.  Your stay includes a continental breakfast buffet that includes beverages, bagels, muffins, yogurt, boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal and cold cuts.  When you come off the slopes, you can grab complimentary popcorn, cookies, coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

There is a small bar off the great room in which you can also order light fare; if you have an opportunity, you should also try Cafe Kandahar, which is in the lodge, for fine dining.

You have a choice of different room configurations; we stayed in a studio with a kitchenette that included a microwave, refrigerator and combination range and oven.  The bed was a wonderful wooden sleigh bed, and the pull out sofa was both comfortable and supportive (which was one more extremely pleasant surprise).

The lodge is a 5 minute walk (although not in ski boots) from the slopes, and the lodge provides a courtesy shuttle to the slopes.

Awesome lodge! Walk across the street, strap the skis on and go. There is a ski trail that literally goes right to the lodge called Hailey's Run. The lodge is very cozy and nice. My wife and I are here on our honeymoon and we absolutely love it.

Haven't stay here, only stopped by for drinks a live music. It's quaint and cozy. Cocktails are good and the bar is pretty full for the size.
Sit on the sofas by the wopd burning fire and Xmas tree and enjoy music with a good cocktail or beer in hand.

Cool place with limited summer options. I don't have any complains about the hotel room or staff. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was great. But the village is almost entirely closed for the summer so expect any food options to be a ways away. I didn't have a chance to try their on-site bar or restaurant, both looked great but they were a little fancier than we had been hoping for. Did use the hot tub and steam room. No complaints there either. Overall a nice hotel, close to Whitefish that would be awesome in the winter.
