We are a jungle themed pediatric dental office in Columbia, Maryland. Come in and check us out, we'd love to meet you!

Story

Dr. Pareja was born and raised in New York City. She attended Columbia University where she received her college degree as well as her dental degree. After finishing her four years of dental training, she continued on to pursue two years of specialty training in the field of pediatric dentistry at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. There, she advanced her skills in children's dental care, general anesthesia, emergency dentistry, and treating children with special needs. She then went on to receive her pediatric dental board certification and became a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

All the special touches made my daughters first time experience extra special. I was referred by a good friend to see Dr. Tan. The office is conveniently located with ample parking. My daughters name were written on a blackboard outside the door. My 3 yr old daughter saw her name and felt special. I definitely felt that the staff and Dr. Tan really cared for helping children. Dr. Tan was thorough, informative, and patience. My oldest daughter had a minor cavity and he did not push me to have it fill. He recommended that we just continue to brush that area better. This is important because some places will push you to fix minor cavities just to make some money. Dr. Tan made the extra efforts to walk and play with my daughters. Trust is important when you are dealing with children who can not communicate clearly their needs yet, so I was truly appreciative that he took the extra time to build this trust.

My child has gone to Dr. Pareja for about 8 years. Dr. Pareja and all of her hygienists are awesome!! I never had an issue with Billing until recently and the front desk staff is not thorough before they answer questions. I have been receiving email reminders to schedule an appointment. I call in today and was told my child was just there last month. Which is incorrect only to be told she had someone else's chart still open. The Billing department recently billed our old dental insurance that we haven't had for two years. I think it is a lot of miscommunication and opportunity for better staff training at the office. I would never have thought I would be looking for another dentist for my child but I may have to start searching soon. Even the replies to these reviews are not the most professional they seem defensive. Hope Dr. Pareja looks at the reviews and sees where she can improve her office staff. The days of Eva and Michelle are really missed with our family.

Very helpful staff and a friendly and efficient practice and the dentists and hygienists are thorough and professional. They also honor the scheduled time slots as far as possible, a rarity among medical practices these days :-) I had to do last minute rescheduling on a couple of occasions and they have been very understanding and flexible.

Pro: This place is kids friendly, and the staff are great! My kids love going here. Con: Like many people have stated, be very careful when you are dealing with their billings...Keep all your receipts, and review quote(s), sign and keep them for few years, prior to allowing them to perform services on your kids. As soon as you received Statement of Benefits from your insurance company, compare what you are agreed to on the quote(s) vs what they billed insurance company. You may end up owe them more money before you know it. I do not trust their billing department, PERIOD.
