If driving down Hwy 101 and need a place to get out and stretch or relax, the visitor center here is worth a quick stop. King Gillette Ranch, a part of the Santa Monica Mountains NRA (north of Los Angeles), is easily accessible, just minutes from 101. At the Anthony C Beilenson visitor center, one can see an exhibit about the human history of the area, learn about local wildlife and plants, and get information about hiking or visiting other areas protected within the Santa Monica Mountains. There is a small educational bookstore, clean restrooms, and park rangers ready to help answer questions concerning the Santa Monica Mountains NRA. This park encompasses a huge area and offers lots of various experiences.

Great visitor center with excellent displays. Friendly and informative staff. Worth the visit.

A lovely, easy going hike. And the ranch was so serene. I saw a bunch of ducks!!

The visitors center is one of the best I have ever seen it laid out really nice and a lot of information I think a tour guide would be great

Having been on the property before it cleaned up i have to say it has lost a bit of its charm, aswell as the fact that the buildings on site are not viewable and they want to charge you if you overstay your parking. Also we were abruptly told No Dogs even on a leash, which i think is a real shame, protective of their new visitor center it does seem an unfriendly way to treat visitors!...maybe i will try one more time to paint there without getting drive by's by the patrolling jobsworth employee's! 😐
