I have visited this amusement park pretty much every year for the past 15 or so years at least, usually in the fall to renew our season passes but in the spring and summer also. I have been to many of the sister parks (Paramount) and current chain parks (Cedar Fair) and Kings Dominion has certain things that I just really like. I enjoy some of the coasters, like Avalanche, which is not something you see everywhere, and Rebel Yell (I miss it backwards) and Grizzly. I also love the carousel, and the dark ride is fun. Also the log flume, the antique cars, flying scooters, etc. They have a lot of great rides and all of the coasters are fun. Of note, if you are a "larger rider" like me, most of the rides that are a bit tight have test seats outside of the queue line. The park has some shows but I have not seen any in quite some time so I cannot really comment. The water park is nice and is included in your admission, again please note weight limits (minimum and maximum ) for slides, as some are pretty light in my personal opinion. Safety first! Be sure to wear a hat and/or sunblock during the summer because there is not a lot of shade overall in most of the park. If you need shade, there are some good areas by the carousel, the Eiffel tower, and the tree lined path behind the tower. Good luck!

We loved our family labor day getaway that we took thus past fall 2017. The kids had a great time. It was the first time our youngest daughter got to ride the big coasters so it was a super special day for her. Overall the park prices were great especially for a recreation venue of this nature. Unlimited drinks were super reasonable and the unlimited picture pack was super cheap. Find a deal on some tickets online and get yourself to Kings Dominion the next chance you have. The rides are great fast lines great overall atmosphere.

This was a really cool park that also has a water park which was refreshing in July. This is one of two major theme parks in Virginia so we had to make sure to check it off our list. We really had a nice time and it was an easy drive down from the Washington, DC area straight down Interstate 95. Perfect for a day trip and couples and families would definitely enjoy it.

What a fun place for kids! Highly recommend coming on a weekday and avoiding the crowds. Otherwise the lines are very long. Also recommend buying a ticket online, at Costco or at a grocery store. You can get a much better deal that way! We saved a pretty signifiant amount of money doing buying our tickets prior to the visit, which I would highly recommend for families or those on a tight budget

I worked at Kings Dominion when I was 16. The place has grown and is full of delightful experiences for young and old. Bring a backpack with essentials like hat, sunscreen, water bottle and comfortable shoes, bathing suit and towel and some spending money. Be prepared for parking fees and charges all through the park. Lines can be long on popular rides as is typical in big parks.
