The restaurant is "new" has new owners. The menu was small and mainly burgers so I had a basket of frittes- they were yummy. My partner enjoyed his burgerFood: 4/5
Of all the restaurants you want to be great, Kipling's Tavern has all the elements of being exactly what Brattleboro, VT needs to breath life back into such an amazing community. The potential for this place is limitless. My personal treatment by the owner was so bad I can only recommend crossing the street to Hazel or going to Peter Havens for a true dining experience. Your personal service is a true embarrassment to your city. I will never set foot in your establishment again.
As a local, this is the only place in town I trust to make me a proper martini. The proprietors are true service industry veterans. The food and drink are consistent and spot-on, the vibe is classic. If you’re an out of towner you’ll be lucky to get a seat here- it’s the local favorite spot.
Outstanding!! I watched the owner bartendergreet every person by name that walked into the place. Food was 10 out of 10! Cooked to perfection, high end and still affordable! Only place that has Guinness on tap around.
Oh man, I cannot say how wrong and utterly off this last guys review was, and how important to the community it is to have Kipps back especially for true locals and visitors it’s a spot that one can feel at home at. Nor can I go on about how wonderful the owners Maggie and Bryan are. I was there last night as well and the familiar homey feel of the our beloved spot is still there, yet they also added their own yummy pub good and Guinness on tap. It’s a comfort spot that Brattleboro missed, and I couldn’t be happier to have it back.
Great food, great service, great drinks. The owners run the spot and they do so with seasoned years of experience and it shows. This whole place is a love note to “going out” culture. The menu are classics reimagined and executed well. The drink menu is always changing interesting and well constructed. This is the spot. See you there.
Amazing all around !! Menu is limited but we had the wings, fries, a burger, pretzel, Caesar salad and the Reuben. I had the Bees Knees gin drink and it was delicious as well. My sister had the carrot cake for dessert and said it was the best! She wants us to drive 2 hours for the pretzel and cake every weekend
Best, warmest pub in Vermont. Best bartender/class act Brian and wait staff/partner/mega-songstress Maggie anywhere. Great burgers. Local flavors. Don’t miss out. Go.
Nice Drafts. Sure wished I had known this was cash only upfront. Why is anything cash only in the 21st? So I missed out on what probably would have been a great Reuben because they didn't have an ATM. The ambiance here is cool and the barkeep was nice. The locals were friendly too. The street parking is tight.
Delicious food!! Jalapeño popper grilled cheese, caramelized onion grilled cheese and a Bix burger were all phenomenal!! Small menu wins!! Concentrating on doing a few things very well! We will be back and bringing family and friends!
