I think it was a quaint little town, from what I saw! I was geocaching, and having a great time, until I came to the third cache. The third cache was supposed to be relatively close to a fence line out towards the more rural areas. After searching the area for a solid 5-10 minutes, I was approached by what I can only assume was a couple of gentlemen with southern pride, and a mentally retarded cop with a lazy eye. I am all for the rights of the disabled, however this is something I will not tolerate, the officer had the nerve to tell me that "if you don't know who owns the land, you're trespassing!" It wasn't very aggressive, and he let me off with a "warning", but I did not cross any fence, and there wasn't a "No Treapassing" sign in sight. The guy that I assume was the land owner was actually the first one to speak and he was hateful straight out the gate. The fact that he spoke first tells me that the cop wasn't there on a business call, he was there for a buddy! One hundred percent of the time I have had a run in with the law, they have the decency to step in and be a sort of mediator, so as to avoid any contentious behavior. To top all of this off, they were all piled into a chuck wagon or ranger or what have you, making it all the more heinous! He left his car somewhere to go on a ride with his pal, let his buddy harangue me, gave me a stern verbal warning, and then left it at that. The officer didn't even ask me what I could possibly be doing, and truth be told, I'd bet dollars to dimes it was really their retarded cousin in a sheriff's outfit helping them keep kids off of their pot farm. Like I said, I was just geocaching, trying to enjoy some nearby towns, however I will never return to Knoxville, if they think people with poor depth perception make acceptable officers they're not far from some lawless hell akin to long forgotten Appalachian towns.
