We had a wonderful winter camping experience. The lake was beautiful -- emerging from the fog dark, muddy, ominous, brooding and broiling. The dunes, covered with snow and with their stubble of milkweed and brambles, and, with the interspersed evergreen patches and birch clumps, were also beautiful. And, hiking the trails over them was invigorating. The campsites were comfortable, with electricity and sheltered in the fir trees. Water taps and clean buildings with pit toilets were nearby.

This is great place to camp, hike, ride bikes and the beach! Campground gets full very fast and there is little chance to get a spot on Fridays morning if you do not have reserved campsite. Even if campground is full, it does not feel crowded. Not all restrooms have running water. There are free hot showers.

One of my most favorite beaches to hike on. The squeaky sand makes it super fun. I love the dunes, the beach, the woods, and the trails that are open to the public. Camping here is pretty awesome too, the noise curfew is great if you want to sleep early and wake up early and rested to hike, or do whatever other camping activities you're into. Super close to town and stores if you want to get other camping needs.

Gorgeous park. Visitor center is great. Beach is fantastic. Camping is busy on weekends, less so weekdays

Beautiful here year round. Whether you're out for a picnic or camping for a week, you'll love this place. Lots of walking paths, a great beach and plenty of places for rec activities.
