Kol HaNeshamah is a progressive synagogue rejoicing in Torah, Avodah (Worship), Tzedek (Justice), Tikkun (Healing), and especially K'hilla (Community).
We are a diverse group of people: Those born Jewish and those not, those who are LGBTQ, those who are straight, and those who don't like categories. We are single, married, or partnered--some with other Jews, some with partners who have another or no faith tradition. Some of use have grown children, some have small children, and some have no children. Some of us grew up in Orthodox households, some of us in Reform or Conservative, and some with no religious upbringing. Some of us believe in God, some don't, and some aren't sure.
We are, like our biblican ancestors, an "erev rav," a mixed multitude, truly reflective of the totality of the Jewish People and our families today.
Come join us!
We seek to create a sacred space
* Where we can draw on the prayers and the rituals of the Jewish People in meaningful ways that cohere with our contemporary values and ideals;
* Where we can celebrate that Judaism has evolved over the centuries, and continues to evolve, allowing for new forms and possibilities;
* Where we can be with others who share similar sensibilities and hopes and dreams;
* Where we don't have to hide parts of who we are.
