I read the bad reviews and I don't usually do reviews but here goes!! I just finished my 2nd Cataract surgery with Dr. Koo, I found him great and took great care to reassure me about the surgery as I was nervous on the day of. The staff at the desk and inside wonderful and they made sure I got late appts so I didn't have to take time off work. I would recommend Dr. Koo highly. And I am thrilled my vision with the lens is fantastic

I went to Dr. Koo a couple of times. Their office is fairly plush with all new, expensive equipment including a movie studio where you sit while your eyes dilate. Dr Koo ordered expensive tests for me and told me they were negative, I didn't have glaucoma. When I went back the following year, he insisted I needed the same tests again. I had to wait a full month after my initial appointment to take the test. He gave no explanation as to why I had to wait for a month both times. I believe he required a month in-between my initial appointment and the glaucoma test because otherwise the insurance wouldn't cover it. Then after waiting a month to take the test, I was required to wait two full weeks for the test results. Meanwhile I was experiencing anxiety over my possible glaucoma for 6 weeks. When I went back the following year he insisted I had to take the same test again, one month after my initial visit. I went to another ophthalmologist instead and she told me the test was not necessary and if it were, I could have the results in less than a week. I am very suspicious that Dr. Koo was running this test the second time just for profit and, in fact he said that I would require it each year. I got an extremely expensive pair of glasses there the first year and they didn't work as well as my old prescription. I left this practice with the feeling that their main goal is profit and that Dr. Koo looks at his patients and sees $$, not a human being.

I called today to talk to Doctor Koo and I was told that he doesn't speak to patients directly after waiting 20 minutes on the phone. There is this person Jacline (something like that) and Walters that are extremely rude to customers. I have been a patient of Dr Koo for more than a decade, giving them business but todays rude front desk service made me change my eye doctor. I was told last time by Doctor Koo that my contact eye lenses material changed but Walters told me today that i was given wrong information by Dr Koo my material did not change. I have 2 insurance coverage for my eyes and normally I order twice a year using those 2 insurance and each time I was charged co payment and the accounts person told me today that they do not have my dual insurance information and I was suppose to give at the time of my service. How could I know your patient record keeping., if I have been using both my insurance to order contact lenses then why I could think you don't have both the records. Horrible customer service and you guys don't own your mistakes, always habit of blaming the patient instead of your self.

I have been going to Dr. Koo's office for about 15 years and prior to me my family members went the office. I recently found out that their office no longer was accepting my Insurance. I offered to pay in full or have a family member and they made my appointment. I then received a phone call stating they were canceling my appointment as they couldn't take my appointment. The woman I spoke with was named Joan. She is very hard and nasty beyond belief. She was rude beyond belief. I felt instead of canceling my appointment and via phone and not speaking with me after years of being their patient and spending thousand of dollars on glasses. I even left several messages for Dr. Koo which not even one call was returned. Not only do they not care about their patients, but they discard you like a piece of garbage when they no longer need your business. Joan is easy to recognize when speaking with her as she has a harsh voice as if she is a smoker or a recovering alcoholic. Joan is a nasty individual, and her demeanor is beyond rude. I would go anywhere but there and for sure don't purchase glasses there as they mark them way up to make a huge profit.
