Work date: Fall 2022 Projects: partial bathroom remodel, kitchen range hood install, bulkhead door replacement, exterior damage, interior damage, flooring, painting, roof repair. The final result of Dube's work on my home is very good and matches my expectations, while staying within the estimated/declared budget. I will probably call them out for more projects in the future. The journey getting there had some rough spots, so I don't think my honest, constructive, 4/5 star rating will be a surprise to them. Scheduling for the project was a bit more haphazard than I would have liked, but this was largely caused by the fact that Dube's had a scheduling change and so they were able to start my project weeks before they expected to be here. Dube's was more than happy to work with the finishing materials paints, faucet handles, etc. that I had pre-purchased, after procuring the "raw materials" themselves. The budgeting and billing were easy, and the invoices were itemized enough for me to feel comfortable about what I was paying for. For the most part, the Dube's employees were all very easy to talk to, and they were courteous and respectful. Mornings on-site started with a friendly greeting and a chat about what to expect throughout the day. One of the managers, Adam, had me on speed-dial, to keep me in the loop on everything, which did unfortunately turn out to be a necessity. When there were issues or questions, they were brought to my attention and quickly resolved. For instance, unexpected foundation and insulation problems were attacked as part of the core "weatherproofing" mission, and detailed before/after photos were provided. So, why four stars instead of five? Simple: a few bad apples, especially the electrician subcontractors. When the people we were used to seeing, such as Adam, Justin, and Codey, were here, I could sit back and relax knowing things were going alright. A few times, someone who is not in that group of workers would show up unsupervised and do a substandard job and/or leave a mess. I can't help calling out the electrician subcontractor as being especially problematic, and I hope Dube's finds a better company to work with in the future. I was impressed that in these negative situations, Dube's was quick to admit fault and adjust their schedules to procure replacements and remediate damage. Adam was sensitive to the way the problems were impacting me as the customer and he put a lot of time and effort into "righting the ship." In summary, Dube's is an overall trustworthy company that stays "on mission" and avoids upselling, so they're a great option for general contractors in the area. They will find and fix root causes instead of making purely cosmetic changes, and their people are very easy to work with.
