AWFUL experience. We had a reservation for 4 adults and 3 kids and as soon as we walked in, we were told that they might have to put our table in a cold corner by the door because the people near our original table “wanted quiet.” We should’ve walked out right there and nearly did, but were convinced to stay and be served at our original table. The food was terrible. My mom’s pasta had not one, not two but three hairs in it. The waiter who looked like he hated his job and/or life couldn’t care less when we told him. We finally got the check which had both 20% gratuity AND an 18% service fee. I brought this to the person who wanted to reseat us in the first place, who apologized and said that he’d take one of them off the bill, and then didn’t. Charged my card for the full amount. Which I didn’t see after the fact because we were so desperate to leave. Still no apologies for the hair in the food. Horrible from beginning to end. Run the other way!
La Bocca was a pleasant surprise while traveling with my wife and two young children. A fancy, yet semi casual atmosphere. Service was impeccable and nothing short of the best service we have received in a long time. The servers were attentive and always made sure we had our glasses filled, if we dropped a napkin, it felt like they were on it before it hit the floor. The appetizers were delicious, we had the fried calamari and buffalo mozz, definitely fresh and done right. Our meals were all excellent and the homemade pasta was incredible. My only complaint was our martinis were only 3/4 filled in a small glass and mine had bits of ice in it. The food and service over shadowed the drinks, I would definitely return and I can’t wait to!
Where to begin. When we cane in the owner, or maybe he was an older waiter, was not happy to see 3 kids. He even said the other patrons were looking for a quieter time. He changed his mind when he saw the shocked look on our faces and sat us. Wish we had left though, when we found three hairs in one of our pasta dishes, and a fish bone in one the beef ravioli dishes I hope it was a fish bone anyway. Avoid.
Our server was amazing, dedicated, kind and on top of everything. The staff in general were committed to give us a wonderful New Year’s Eve experience and I commend them for that. However, the food was terrible. Overcooked pasta so much, you couldn’t eat it with a fork, Cesar salad from a salad bag from the grocery store, tasteless dressing, beef carpaccio with half of an arugula bag and three very thin pieces of beef, and the kick of all, there’s no drink menu, so we end up paying for a rosé the same price I paid for a prepared cocktail in a fancy bar last week in NYC. The only food worth eating was the canoli at the end, but the final tab didn’t reflect the quality of food or drinks. I’d only come back for coffee and dessert.
A great mid-week night out! Food was excellent and - shall we say - quite abundant. Service very attentive-- never an empty glass nor dirty plate on the table. "Old School"... no iPads, no QR codes, no 'get it yourself'. An excellent evening out on all counts. Many thanks to the team for helping make our visit to White Plains memorable!
Arrived at the right time of day lunch was very good and wasn't overpriced at all very reasonable. Fantastic service in fantastic foodFood: 5/5
You know it’s good when you want to come back the next day. La Bocca is a genuine authentic Italian place which clearly has a God of chefs or a team of Italian grannies working in the kitchen. I haven’t had Italian this good since my childhood. Come for the style, stay for the comfort food. Pictured: Fra Diavolo shrimp, mussels and clams with black linguini. Follow up: the waiter convinced me to have the pistachio truffle dessert with cappucino. Part of my body just died and went to heaven.
Enjoyed the atmosphere. Felt like we'd been coming here for years. The food was delicious and the service was always catering to us to ensure we were happy. Can't wait to come back.
10/10. Food and atmosphere was amazing. Nalu was our server and he was fantastic. Would definitely recommend!Food: 5/5
Penne alla vodka that left a lot to be desired. Flavorless and missing the best parts. The sauce was weak and no evidence of the ham they claimed on their menu. I expressed my distaste to the waiter and he insulted my knowledge of penne alla vodka and even proceeded to ask me if it was my first time there. Interestingly enough the lady at the next table said to me that she also is never coming back there again. I don’t blame her. My friend got a ginger ale and even that was not maintained as he had to switch it out for something else. The place needs work.
