Nice family run Italian spot in Midtown East! Really enjoyed the cozy feel and the couple that ran the restaurant were super kind. We ordered the broccoli + sausage pasta and the flourless chocolate cake, both of which were delicious. Reminded me of Europe—the dim lighting, people eating there late into the night, the nice but casual feel. Also much cheaper than a lot of the other Italian places out there without sacrificing quality.

I was looking for a new Italian place to dine at, and stumbled upon La Gioconda. It was the most authentic Italian food I've ever had in the city! The place is so charming and cute, it transported me to Italy. After chatting with the staff, I learned that this hidden gem has been around for 30 years, and I completely understand why. The service, food, and atmosphere was incredible! I highly recommend La Gioconda if you're looking for delicious authentic Italian food. Everything we ate there was a chef's kiss! I will definitely be going back

Honestly one of the most unexpected great meals! Guys, don’t look at the pictures!!!! Just go! Trust me! It was such a warm and wonderful experience! I loved the food and service was amazing. Definitely try pasta with short ribs and lamb with risotto!! Wow! Bruschetta for $12! Are there still prices like that in this world??? No way! Wow! Simply great!!!

Went here to dinner with my family, it was a pleasant surprise to find such good Italian food near to our hotel! The place is little but also cozy and really comfortable, the staff was very sweet and the food was worth the price that is not too high for the new york's prices, with what I payed for a sandwich yesterday, I was able to eat a full plate of pasta here! Another thing is obviously that the water refills are free of charge and so is the bread, we just got some Tagliatelle and Lasagne but maybe next time we'll be able to order some appetizerswe were in a rush. It closes at 11pm and I highly recommend it if you find yourselves in the block!

Cozy as heck! A little 12 table Italian family style restaurant with open floor-to-ceiling windows and brick walls. Unassuming but with all the Italian favorites. Luis was our server and made everything so much betterFood: 4/5

Very nice, authentic & reasonably priced casual Italian restaurant in midtown New York within walking distance of Rockefeller Center. Every pasta dish we tried was good and the service excellent. The wine list has many reasonable options. We have been several times and had consistently good meals. The desserts are also really good ie: tiramisu. Highly recommended.

A friend and I went here for NYC Restaurant Week and loved it! The food was excellent in terms of taste and portions.  The location had a comfortable vibe, and since we arrived during a slow time, the servers were kind enough to give us lots of time and space to talk and have a nice time. It felt like an authentic Italian restaurant experience.

The food is authentic and cooked to perfection. The wine is extensive and equally delicious, but the real stand out is the atmosphere and service. It's Top notch and genuine. Not in your face, type of thing, but friendly and calm...and attentive. No need to consider any other options if you're wanting Italian in Turtle Bay. Enjoy

Food is amazing and the service is as well. I have been here twice but plan on coming on a regular basis. Prices are all reasonable and by far the best pasta I have had in the city. Extremely authentic and all the cheeses are fresh and delicious.Food: 5/5
