Don't be scared by the dumpy center where they're located, the restaurant is staffed by the owners, and is clean as a whistle. The food consists of a compact 'hot' line offering several choices. I've only visited at lunchtime - the 'special' is choice of protein + 2 sides. The pork is the best around (tip: be sure to get a piece of skin!), and I'm particularly fond of one of their other specialties, the roasted chicken. Portions are ample, prices are reasonable, the food is always wholesome - I've been a regular for several years. A good out-of-the-way pick!

Awesome flavor, mom and pop kinda of shop! Love to support local. So glad I stumbled across this place. We had pork ribs and chicken both meals were robust with flavor and very good. Will return. Staff was friendly and the prices are reasonable.

Absolutely disgusting. I won't even say disgusting, it was actually not edible. I was starving too so I basically would have eaten anything. We just picked it up and I opened it up and saw what is pictured in the first image. Literally one piece of meat cut into two small pieces. I was able to fashion together a sandwich half out of both sides of the sandwich, but you can see there still wasn't a good amount of meat for a $11 sandwich (no sides included). Again, at this point I was so hungry I didn't even care that they shorted me on food. When I went to take my first bite I actually thought that I broke my front teeth. The meat in the entire thing was so tough I couldn't actually bite through ANY of the pieces. The last image is my attempt at actually eating it...which failed. Needless to say, it was beyond disappointing. (Also they were really rude to the person who picked it up.)

This place is great, I eat there regularly, it's not a sit down and order your food kinda place, you stand up there like everyone else and you get to see what appeals to you that day. I love that I can see the food in front of me at the hot counter. The owner is a great cook, he's not a waiter. If anyone has a problem with this place, it's obviously not about the food.

Family owned/operated type of place with friendly and efficient service. My first time in there, and the gentleman took the time to take off all the covers on the food to show me what they had and explained how people usually order on the $6.99 lunch special at the walk up counter. I got the stew with black beans and yellow rice along with an order of plantains and everything was delicious.
