My omelette was cooked perfectly and not dried out. The cheddar cheese was rich and tasty. Rice and beans were authentic style and good. Chips were fresh. The salsa had great flavor but was very tame as far as spicy goes, not necessarily a bad thing. Service was great even after coming in a few minutes after open. Our plates were a little on the pricey side, but understandable given the location and inflation. Will be back again.
A delightful change in this location. Better food than any Mexican restaurant in the area. Very fresh and the Morro Bay burrito had fresh fish that was flaky and taste great. A great assortment of fresh salsa and the gentleman was very niceFood: 5/5
The food was pretty good. Salsa surprised me and had a lot more taste than it appeared to have. We had taquitos that were tasty but had a surprising taste of parmesan. The chicken tortilla soup was a lot, the bowl was big and there were so many flavors to it. I had fish tacos and the fish was a little rubbery. My husband had a pork verde burrito and surprised that it was covered in red sauce. It was good and very big. The food was tasty but $60 is alot for lunch.
So delicious and the sweetest staff! Among our party we had a lot of fish and shrimp tacos which were all delicious. One member of our party had some food allergies and the waitress was very patient and talked us through what was in all of their sauces. Would eat here again!
Real authentic Mexican food. Love chorizo con huevos. The Chili Relleno burrito is excellent. Friendly staff. Clean restaurant. All new furnishings, fresh paint, clean bathrooms, and new flooring. This is the place for intrinsically genuine Mexican food. I will return.Food: 5/5
The food is delicious and reasonably priced! I ordered their special of the day for Friday. Chicken fajitas that is served with beans, rice and 3 small flour tortillas for $15.95. Wendy is so friendly and makes you feel like family. I will be eating there regularly.
My husband and I are long time residents of Morro Bay. We love to support our local restaurants and eat out 6 times a week. So when we read an article in the newspaper about the recent opening of La Katrina Cocina we were excited to try them out for dinner tonight. To say that we were disappointed is an understatement. My husband’s Morro Bay Burrito was lacking in flavor and rather than the normal cod or mahi mahi, they used small bits of some type of cheap grouper. My Grilled Fajita Salad was touted as including a “grande tostada shell” with choice of steak or chicken breast. Plus add shrimp for a total price of $17.95. I selected the steak + shrimp. What I got was a miniature tostada shell that a well known Mexican fast food restaurant serves. And only shrimp with no steak. The owner said that I would need to pay an additional $5.95 for the steak, which I did. Honestly the tostada at the well known Mexican fast food restaurant tastes better and would cost me a fraction of the $24. I would just like to add that it was Wendy, the owner, who seated us and took our orders. I felt that she was unfriendly no smiles, snapped at me when I asked when she anticipates getting approval for their pending liquor license and seemed put out when I asked what type of beverages they have none were listed on the menu. Needless to say we won’t be returning.
Excellent food. Awesome service.Food: 5/5

The surf and turf burrito was stuffed with shrimp and the carne Asada was seasoned to perfection
