Easily one of my favorite brunch spots. You won't be able to not look at the beautiful display of sweet cakes and pastries. A cozy restaurant atmosphere, and the staff is always pleasant. I'd advise going before 11, because that seems to be when the crowd really picks up.

I do really enjoy the food at La Magie! It's pretty standard hearty comfort food, and I would say that breakfast is where they shine. The bakery itself is quite good, though it's got stiff competition around here.

My main gripe is the staff, unfortunately. On several occasions my order has been incorrect, the time from kitchen to table seems interminable, and I've been hard-pressed to get any kind of refill. And I try my best to avoid peak hours for exactly these reasons, so I can only assume there has been something else at play.

Every once in a while I'll get a hankering for stuffed French toast and I'll give it another go. On a recent visit, even though my order came out incorrectly, service was much more prompt (and friendlier!). It looks like they've done a round of hiring, so perhaps my rating will change in the future.

Still my favorite breakfast place in Bend. Great coffee. Great breakfast food. Amazing pastries to take home after. They give your kids a boogie board to doodle on!!! No one does that!! Always my #1 pick for a special meal out.

Honestly one of the best bakeries we have ever experienced. While visiting Bend we were looking for a fantastic dessert to surprise our friend who has a severe food allergy that typically makes eating/ordering out next to impossible. La Magie was extremely accommodating and made a stunningly beautiful allergy free cheesecake. When we couldn't make it into town before closing, they welcomed us to still come and pick it over 2 hours after close. We highly recommend this cute little bakery in the heart of downtown Bend. Thank you, La Magie!

I've given this place a few tries over the last several years, because I love the atmosphere. Service is fine, but not stellar; food is good but not memorable. Most recent visit with my daughter will likely be my last. Our table had been hastily wiped and so there were still crumbs and sticky jam at the edges, one of the spoons they brought us had old food caked on it, and there was a hair in my food. Any one of those things would have been understandable and forgiveable once, but I feel that all of them on the same visit shows a consistent lack of attention, care, and pride in work and presentation. If I had great experiences every other time I'd been, I would likely try again, but nope. There are too many other places in Bend to eat at.
