Both Martino and Adriano have dedicated their entire careers to the restaurant business. The two men first became acquainted while working at restaurants in North Beach, San Francisco’s Italian neighborhood. They kept in touch over the years, often discussing the possibility of opening a restaurant together. Then, in 1996, they came upon a vacant restaurant while driving to the store to pick up supplies for a backyard BBQ. In short order, they leased the San Pablo space and the first La Strada was born. The American Canyon location opened six years later.
Though La Strada started out as a dream among friends, it evolved into a family business when Martino and Adriano became brother-in-laws.
Both Martino and Adriano remain very involved with the two La Strada locations. Guests will almost always find one of them at the restaurant, checking and rechecking that the food and service meet their high expectations.
