My husband and I were looking for a new family Doctor after the one I used for several years retired and we did not care for his replacement at all. My husband became ill and needed to be seen right way and after a quick google search I came across this office and they were able to get him in as a new patient the same day which is rare! He saw Chris whom is a Nurse Practitioner and he has remained a patient of hers. I originally started out seeing her when I became ill and needing to get in quickly. My second time to go there, I was seen by Nicole and I've remained a patient of hers. This office has always been able to get both of us in the same day if needed, they are easy to work with when scheduling appointments and neither of us have ever had to wait longer than 15 minutes to be seen. Both Chris and Nicole spend time speaking with you and truly want to understand your concerns. We have never been rushed out of there. We just recently moved an hour away from Lake Arlington and still continue to use this office.

I will never recommend this location to anyone, ever. I have had cancer, a heart attack, a quad bypass and discovered I have diabetes with numbers of 370 and a1c of 1410. Been trying to get a GP as I had no insurance for 10 years and all were saying 2 months to get in for a new patient. I could be dead by then. Dr. Poquiz is in our church bulletin, and a couple of my friends recommended him. I called and specifically asked for Dr. Poquiz, explaining to the receptionist about the bulletin and recommendations. She looked and said they could get me in today, 4/28/17 at 8:00 am. Wow, I thought, finally will get meds, etc. I show up, go in and find out, no, I am seeing a Dr. Ray, and Dr. Poquiz is not seeing new patients. Was I ticked off or what! I came there specifically to see him, having researched his background as I do with all Dr. I was upset, said to cancel as I know nothing about a Dr. Ray. Left... called them on the way back to work and said I was going to put something on the web, said they need to change their policy completely and not scam the potential client/patients. They need to identify who they will see...this is not a 3rd world country where the folks show up and see whomever. I checked the web and first this Dr. Ray is a female, and I am not comfortable with a woman Dr. to begin with. Then I start reading all the verbiage on the web about the office. Low ratings, long waits, lack of specific info with the Dr's and Dr. Ray is almost all negative. I hate it when a Dr is piggy backing off another Dr to get patients. I have not bothered to check her credentials, but just the web says it all. Do not go there. I was so upset I almost had another heart attack! It took me over an hour to calm down. I hate deceit, and this was it through and through. I am going to let those that recommended this place know what happened and recommend that no one ever go there. The only nice thing was it was 30 minutes from home, was a new building with a decent parking lot, nice clean reception room but that was it...when I told the receptionist I was there to see Dr. Poquiz the other lady walked up and said, no you are seeing Dr. Ray as Dr. Poquiz is not seeing new patients. They owe me an apology for the deceit and wasting my time and upsetting me. The receptionist and the other lady were not apologetic there or on the phone...just indifferent.

Nicole is great! Have been seen by her since I moved to the area almost 3 years ago. She takes time to listen to concerns and to come up with treatment. Never had to wait long for an appointment. Small-town feel in the city.

All jokes aside, these are the kind of people that get mad if they don't get an antibiotic for their viral infection or if a pharmacy can't tell them why their copay is so high. Regardless of what you think, the person primarily responsible for your healthcare is YOURSELF. Dr Poquiz and his staff do a great job. If you think everyone is rude, and no matter where you go, the staff is incompetent, then you need to step back and reflect on what the constant is in this equation. (Answer: It's you)
