Just moved out and am so glad. For one our apartment was not thoroughly cleaned when we moved in, so I had to clean some of it. Then when we moved out my daughter & I scrubbed every wall and the bathrooms head to toe. I cleaned the bathrooms extensively. There was two small spots on the wall where my daughter had 3M hooks on that didn't come off nicely, so I knew that was needing to be painted & one drawer she missed wiping out in the kitchen...so I knew a couple things we missed. The lady doing the inspection comes through & basically said we didn't clean! She said the walls were dirty, soap scum in one of the showers & there were a couple holes (there were no holes) so they needed to have a painter come in & they were going to charge us $200, then since we opted to have them clean the carpets (because they told my boyfriend it would only be about $90 to clean them) she says it will be $175 to clean the carpets, then says oh the cuboards are a little dirty so we need to bring someone in to clean the kitchen too. So your estimated total is $485 dollars. Our deposit was $400, so I'm pretty sure it was just a BS atempt to keep our deposit. Will never recomend them to anyone!

I've lived here for two years and love it! They're constantly updating the property, and management has improved significantly over the years.

Please listen to this whooole post. :) Goldmark is the worst company in Fargo to rent from. Lakecrest are descent apartments themselves, nothing fancy, but the apartments are not the issue... I don't have time to name every injustice, but here are a couple recent ones.

Last month I got a threat letter that I would be billed $1.00 for every cigarette butt found on the ground in front of my apartment. I don't smoke. 

Also, my lease is up soon (thank goodness), and the options given to me if I were to stay were: 1) Renew the lease for 12 months at a $30 higher rate. (Definitely not worth it in my opinion... I was really on the border at $675.) or option 2) Renew the lease on a month-to-month basis at $40 higher rate PLUS a $75 monthly month-to-month fee. HA!

The rent is due on the 1st, even on weekends, holidays, etc. I believe its a $40 fee on the 2nd, and $80 on the 15th... NO EXCEPTIONS.

I don't have a prayer of getting my deposit back, even though the only damage I remember doing was walking through my screen door, oops! I'll probably fix that to try my luck too, most likely won't help. 

Oh, and when 7 police cars show up to one building with no ambulance, don't worry! They'll inform you that a tenant had a health issue.

A real problem with the location itself is the infrastructure. There are a TON of apartments in the area that all use 32nd Ave S to get to work. Adds about 5 minutes to my commute. Just watch as you drive in, the driveway to get into the area is a terrible design with only one way out!

If you do decide to rent from this joke of a company, have fun signing your life away in an apartment that they made into an office... haha! Watch how many times throughout your stay that they refer to "the handbook." THE ALMIGHTY HANDBOOK.

The apartments itself its not bad but if your looking for easy to work property managers, this is not the place for you. Lakecrest apartments is probably one of the worst place for that.

Not a good place to live. Bad neighbors, management does not take care of problems. Low class neighborhood, not for families
