Story

Lake Lansing is a 461acre lake in Haslett, Michigan just a few miles northeast of the state's capital city of Lansing.OverviewLake Lansing was originally known as Pine Lake, and was a highly popular recreation site in the early 1900s. The name was changed to Lake Lansing in 1927. Two sailing clubs also have property on the lake. The Center also offers a variety of memberships that enable individuals to sail MSU Sailing Center boats.Public parksThree public parks, one with trailer launching access, are operated by the Ingham County Parks Department. Lake Lansing Park South includes a Band Shell, boat rental, fishing dock, swimming beach, bath house beach, volleyball courts, summer snack bar, horseshoe pits, picnic grounds, and shelters. Nice county park with a good swimming area, though the beach is almost non-existent. Kids cannot bring toys into the water, which is the big downside. The playground is fairly large, and there is the band shell, which has concerts every Friday night during the summer. Boat rentals, concession stand, and volleyball courts, too.

Amazing place for gatherings or just relaxing. Water is pretty clear, Sandy and not full of seaweed. Beautiful view. No smoking of any kind, even vapor pens. So that's a little ridiculous. Also, no water toys are not allowed, no flotation devices besides life jackets. Beach toys are ok, but not really fun for little ones.

Well maintained lake (and mini beach area). Loved their pedal boat rentals. Very reasonable priced too.

It's a fun place to hang out with the family. There's sand volleyball, a large play structure for the kids, a tricycle track, swimming in the lake, and lots of room to play frisbee or play catch. Also there's live music in the band shell sometimes.
