LOH - Premier Equestrian Facility & Historic Community Landmark

Story

Welcome to Lake Oswego Hunt Equestrian Center(LOH)! LOH consists of 19 acres conveniently located in Lake Oswego, just 10 minutes from downtown Portland. Our riding academy, training programs, and shows are open to the public! LOH is a Northwest treasure, too. It turned 75 in 2012, and is on the National Registry of Historic Places.

The Riding Academy offers one of the area’s best and most comprehensive beginning and intermediate lesson programs for all ages. All ages and all skill levels will enjoy the high-quality and talented horses that make the Riding Academy truly special. We offer summer day camps, too. We supply the horses, helmets and tack. Please contact the Riding Academy at 503-636-1316 [email protected]

We offer training programs that meet the needs of all skill levels. You can train with qualified and engaging trainers. Visit our website for trainer profiles and contact information: www.lakeoswegohunt.com

LOH is a non-profit corporation based on a membership model. Everyone is welcome to enjoy our facility and to apply for membership, but membership is NOT necessary to enjoy most of our programs.

We also offer full service boarding, with premier feed and turnout. We would love to show you around. Check our website for more info and calendar of events. Contact our LOH Manager at 503-636-0674 or [email protected]

I've boarded at LOH for 4+ years and the large stalls are huge and the care is awesome. They have different training programs for all types of riders and yes, they will give your kiddos lessons in the Riding Academy, They are one of the only barns in the area that feed hay 4x a day.

Been at LOH for eight years now and the place is fantastic. There have been some ups and downs, but things always end for the better. The horses are awesome and love what they're doing and the management has been seeing to a lot of long needed repairs. The place just keeps getting better.

i don't ride at the hunt club, but my friends used to ride there and the facility is terrible. the poor horses are in tiny, tiny stalls and the stall doors are low enough that the horses can step over it and the tack room is disgusting and unorganized. I didn't even know who's tack was who's. They teach people like frickin 2 yr olds, if you know how to canter freely on the rail they put on a leadline like a 2 yr old. if your thinking about riding there DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

I used to be part of LOHC, about 30 yrs ago. My experience was good and bad. I found it to be very snobby for the most part, yet there were some really good people there too. I think the most annoying thing was the distention between the hunter / jumpers and the dressage people. It was ridiculous. Also some trainers favored the more wealthy members. The barn was dilapidated back then too. A very biased place.
