Will never forget the day i came home after track practice an honor roll college bound high scool student see my 70yr old nabor and mother in shambles to find the came to arest my step father for child abuse my nabor had asked me if i was ok and if my 12yr old lil was ok because she had saw him open the door for 2 officers and the 300+ lb grown man detective grab twist and slam my lil borther down a flight of stairs and then his female partner join in and stab the child with a ball point pin the child sustained a broken arm swollen face and a puncture wound while the detective sustaind an injury of a dislocated sholder from slaming the child down the stairs the claimed the child had twisted his arm and over powered the two detectives who came to protect in the end the detective got physical leave and the child recived battery on a leo, and resisting arrest changed his life for the worst my lil brother is down the wrong path cell to cell hope your proud of ruining his life n turning an innocent child to a criminal who bucks athority and good abvice because he had lost hope in those who are suposed to protect us

Operator for a non emergency call about a cow being loose at 12 am on West Pipken Rd. (Which is within Lakeland city limits) was more interested in arguing with me over the phone about jurisdiction. The operator wanted to transfer me to Hillsborough County instead of dispatching an officer to the area I reported the incident in. Great public safety we have here..probably interrupting her feet on the desk time. Who cares it's just a 1500 lb animal walking down a road that is pitch dark. Pathetic

The best police department in the County.  Very responsive to residents complaints and concerns.  Very active in community events.

Rude, very rude. I have never been spoken to in such an awful manner. There is no reason for people to be addressed in such a condensing and just ill manner tone by the receptionist at the station. All I wanted to do was report an attempt of my car being hot-wired. The officer that came to take the report did not believe someone tried to take my car so she basically told me, don't call and check on the case. If you hear something the detective will call you but if not, then he has nothing. The whole feeling of trying to get help but the police act like they won't help just sucks.
