Parking lot is horible have to wait and the computer section stinks kids screaming and running around and the boarding home people are disruptive and yelling across the room no law & order what so ever. If you want to use the computer or read or concentrate not this library

Staff are knowledgable and willing to help when asked, and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs -- even in a difficult environment. Good selection of books and DVD's. Over the past few years, the library has been constantly evolving with new sections, expanded sections, special programs, etc. The staff clearly put in the effort to make it an interesting place to visit, with a frequent rotation of wall art and nice little new touches to surprise and entertain with each visit. On the downside, the library is noisy and not the best place to go if you are looking for a place to hunker with a good book and enjoy some peace and quiet, or to study. There's frequent rowdiness coming from the kids playing computer in the YA section, giving off the feel of a community center rather than a library. That said, the staff security to try their darndest to rein in that rowdiness, and it speaks for the character of the rest of the staff that they manage to be so cheerful and proficient in what is definitely not always an easy place to work.

An absolutely horrible and useless place! Small and outdated book selection. The staff are not particularly helpful. Most importantly for me, coming there with a laptop - the Internet connection / wifi is horribly slow, and has all sorts of problems! Ridiculously limited number of places to plug in a laptop. And they don't have enough desktop computers there to keep up with demand, so wait times can be ridiculous, and when your 30 minutes are up you have to wait again... But the worst thing about it is the noise! Kids talking, kids screaming, kids playing video games at full volume, rude adults trying to talk over the noise on their cell phones, punks trying to watch YouTube rap videos without earphones, with the connection stuttering, etc, etc, etc - even some mentally ill people that wander into there and shout nonsense at the top of their lungs! When you try to complain to the helpless security guard, the only thing he does is give a warning, which is routinely ignored, and then he avoids the area so you don't complain again... If hell exists, then it must resemble trying to get some writing done in a place like the Lakewood Library! And I'm sure it costs the taxpayers millions - the money that could be used to create a dozen decent Internet cafés.
