Story

The Lakewood Police Department (LPD) is served by 115 Officers, and provides police protection for the Township of Lakewood. LPD has several specialized units. including the Office of Professional Standards, Detective Bureau, Traffic and Safety, Urban Enterprise Zones, Quality of Life Unit, School Resource Officers, Special Response Team (SRT), Dive Team, Motorcycle Patrol and Bicycle Patrol Units. The current Chief of the Lakewood Police Department is Robert Lawson.

The Lakewood Police Department will provide the highest level of service through the enforcement of laws and the protection of life, property and the constitutional right of all. We will meet the present and future needs of the public through continued partnership with our community.
