Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. The campground was at 10% capacity. Selected a site that was NOT reserved for a picnic with my small children. The camp host appeared immediately and quite angrily told us to leave because he was "tired of cleaning up sites twice a day!" We told him we always clean up after ourselves and asked for 10 minutes to let the children eat. He stormed off. To be fair to the host we understood it was an overnight camping site but we've never been asked to leave an unreserved site on a quiet afternoon. We absolutely did not appreciate the anger he directed at us for daring to use an empty table in an empty public campground.

Check out the handicap accessible nature trail! Most people don't know about it, but if you enter the campground and turn right (north), just past the loop at the end is a small parking area for a trailhead. A bridge across the river leads to a paved loop trail. Short, but whenever out kids were little they loved to tear around this loop on their tricycles!
