Laundry Locker for the win! Convenience and efficiency aside (it has both), the folks who work there are topnotch. Last year, my apartment building caught fire. The local Laundry Locker in Lower Haight offered tenants some free laundry and dry cleaning to help out. I set up my account and a couple texts later, the smoke was out of my clothes. I've been a happy customer ever since. Highly recommend.

When I moved to SF all the dry cleaners were closed on Sundays, and seemed to charge rediculous prices. Then a friend told me about this place that was open 24 hours and I didn't get it. But then I was cruising on a Saturday by Hiaght st and saw what he was talking about. I've now used it several times and it's been amazing!

I've had nothing less then a horrible experience with laundry locker. In "concept" its a great service. To allow me to bring my cloths down to a location and pick them up on my schedule is exactly what I need. I'm a busy guy and don't have time to mess with inefficiencies. The concept is where the praise stops and Arik Levy should be ashamed he runs a substandard business. He needs to execute on the basics and fulfill the promises that Laundry Locker proclaims it provides. WHERE LAUNDRY LOCKER FAILED: 1) I log on to the website, input my preferences, CC info etc. Spend 20 mins hauling my stuff to the haight st store. When I arrive, my CC does NOT allow me to enter. If you ever use this service, first check to see if you can get in before unloading your cloths!! Figuring there could be an issue with my card, I logged on via my iPhone, switched cards, waited 2 mins as their website suggested. Tried the second card. FAIL. Called laundry locker, no answer. (They take calls during bankers hours, yet run a 24/7 operation.) FAIL. I needed to pack up my laundry (I had a lot of it, $275 worth that LL charged me!!), haul it back home. 20 mins of my life wasted and dirty laundry for a few more days. I wrote their customer service dept and Madison responded with: "I apologize for the trouble you had getting into the kiosk. You should have access to the location now, the card readers sometimes go down and have to reboot. I can see they're up and working now, the card on file is below. I've put a 10 lb credit in your account for the hassle." She indicated their card readers sometimes go down, indicating this is a known and common issue. If they know their equipment goes down, why don't they have a 24/7 call service to fix it when it happens. 10 lb credit doesn't begin to appease for the hassle! Thanks, but no thanks. 2) I finally get to drop off my laundry and my card worked 1.5 days after I sent the original email. When everything was finished, I received my text messages indicating my locker numbers and the access code to get in, which is the last 4 digits of your phone number. I was able to retrieve all but 1 bag of cloths, which is, as of this writing, still trapped in locker 148. They did not program the locker to my phone number. I called their number and got a third party answering service. The Call Center person is not empowered to do anything other then try to locate someone in their offices, which, after 15 mins on hold, she could not do. I requested that Arik Levy call me back. Lets see if he does. AVOID LAUNDRY LOCKER!!! For the premium they charge, I expect a Mercedes experience but was left with that of a Yugo. In all, I'll have wasted an hour of my life because of Laundry Locker's complete breakdown of processes ... 2 trips to drop off, 2 trips to pick up, 15 mins on hold with a disempowered outsourced call center agent and a rude hang up by a Laundry Locker employee who refused to help me. UPDATE: Madison did call me back, she didn't solve my issue, made an excuse that they are a small business with the tone that being a small business should some how absolve them from their responsibilities to execute on the basics which THEY CHARGE A PREMIUM FOR. She went on to exclaim she would not be able to help me, and then hung up on me before providing me a resolution on how to retrieve my cloths. I have no idea how to retrieve my cloths ... What a complete nightmare! AVOID LAUNDRY LOCKER!
