I don't often have a need for this type of store but when I do, Laytners on E86th St never fails.  I appreciate the prices and quality of their items. I got a GREAT cotton salmon quilt the last time I was here.  I love it.

I like to buy linens at this store. The relation quality/price is very good. The designs are classy and elegant.

Not sure what has happened here of late. It used to be a great store, a must drop-in when at Zabar's or Staples. Now.... I bought a shower curtains and some hooks that, when I took them home, turned out to be hugely inferior. The purchases came in a black plastic bag, the kind the cheap smoke shops use. When I went to return the items, I saw that they do not issue refunds - only store credit. I showed the clerk the problems with my purchase, and she told me that they "don't have anything better" and recommended I look elsewhere! It seems they are either planning to go under or are on their way there.

I'd never even heard of the store before I was given a gift card to help furnish our new apartment. When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised to discover it's like a less cluttered Bed Bath & Beyond with nicer products. We ended up purchasing a small wooden nightstand and later, a Woolwich blanket. In particular, Bradley was really helpful when pointing out the different features and sizes of the blankets.
