Delicious food, lots of options on the menu, and tasty drinks and desserts. Reasonably priced as well. They were able to accommodate a group of 9 at the last minute on a Thursday night which was great. Service was a little slow though and took a long time to get our drinks started. Overall, it's a great restaurant and nice to see something stick in that location on Carlsbad Village Drive.
Cool spot with a ton of outdoor seating. Dynamic menu that serves up brekkie, brunch and lunchy options during the day Number of options can feel bit overwhelming first world problems, but skillets are stand out items Got the veggie one with add on of turkey sausage and it was soo good! Coffee was ok.. fish tacos were what you’d expect but not anything to write home about Great service, friendly staff
So disappointed to write this one. This was one of our go to spots in the village and have suggested it to many people. But, like so many reviews lately, something must have changed recently. Change in ownership? Change in management? First off it was strange to get parking on a Saturday at dinner time. Then, while there was a queue, there were lots of tables. We joked that we hoped we wouldn't learn the reason when it is usually packed! Then we learned... Slow staff, bartenders who didn't know their drink menu, but the worse part was their normally great food was not. Orion rings burned... literally black in places. Fries not hot at all. The paella was sushi style. A wet raw mess. The best part was an overdressed Caesar Salad. A go to for all three of is a no more. The prime rib sandwich was a wet mess with a thick gravy consistency dip. See pictures of the onion rings and paella. So sad to see this great place survive the pandemic fine only to die after. I don't give it long if this continues. No wonder it wasn't busy anymore.
Located 5 minutes walking distance from Encinitas state beach we combined cocktails and a view of the sunset with one good parking spot. We were promptly greeted by the host and also by the bartender, Dustin. When Dustin described the happy hour specials and added the fact that the tacos sell out, we knew we needed some. He really sold those tacos and made the blackened suggestion on the Mahi. He also offered salt or tahine on the margaritas. I really enjoyed his personality, service, and suggestions. It is obvious he is genuine when he comes out from the bar to hug a well known patron. The tacos were to die for. I will be returning for the food for certain. I hope Dustin is on shift.
Good food! Yvette was amazing! Best service ever! We will be back to request her again!!!Food: 5/5
My family and I were just bummed about the food and experience for how much we paid. The huevos rancheros were barely warm and the eggs were supposed to be over medium but when I cut into them the egg whites gushed everywhere like water which was sad. My matcha had barely any matcha and it was $8. Our waiter never asked how our food was and seemed unhappy to be there. Maybe he was just having a hard day. We all get those so that’s fine. My parents had trouble with their orders too.
Our first time to this location. They have another that we used to go to years ago down in Lucadia. The food was quite good. The halibut with shrimp and lemon cream sauce was very good along with the butternut squash ravioli. We arrived quite late on a Monday, so this probably affected our experience as the kitchen was closed to closing, so we felt a bit rushed to place our orders. For the atmosphere, we will need to come again, and we will. We sat out on the patio so that was nice and enjoyed the live music. We were away from the stage, but they had low level speakers through out the restaurant locations. So that was nice along with seeing the stage on TV monitors in various locations. Only issue was not having lighting on the stage so the two musicians were back lit shadows. The ambiance is a cross between a nice restaurant and sports bar. Lost from the Lucadia location was the cozy funky vibe of the old house. We semi liked the more modern feel and patio dining, but think it has an identity crisis by having sports playing on some of the monitor screens. This is partly a hold over from the prior burger concept restaurant in the location that converted an old Blockbuster video store. Finding the entrance was also awkward due to multiple patio expansions during COVID. Overall, the food was good and we will return to see if will be added to our usual list of night out locations.
It was our first time dining here. It was a great date night. The food was amazing, they had live music Lola Christine, she was wonderful. The service was great. Would come back for sure.Food: 5/5
The service was friendly, quick and attentive. The manager even came to visit our our large group to see how everything was going. On average you spend at least $20 per person with meal and drink but I felt it was still worth it. The quality of food was so good..I personally had the shrimp and grits which was amazing. I didn't think I'd like the poach eggs but I was wrong. It added such good flavor to the dish. Anyone visiting the area should definitely add this to one of the places to try.
We had a great time. Live music even on Wednesday!!! Very professional musician. I think his name was Raynaldo. He did a lot of Classic rock and a little Mexican music. The paella was the best I've tasted since Spain. Server was awesome!!!Food: 5/5
