I find the atmosphere very quiet and peaceful to work and study.

Great area library. Extensive movie collection and Children's Department. Opens at 8 am most days, a real plus to researchers. As it is in Lebanon there can be, well, people that make people uncomfortable - the library has dealt with this by hiring a very visible full time security person (who is none the less quite easy to talk to). Public places require public manners and the security guard is there to enforce appropriate behavior. so please address issues to the guard, if you are uncomfortable chances are others are also. This has worked for me. The way I read it: the staff actively wants patrons feel comfortable and in general are friendly and helpful although they can get busy. However, when it was my turn they gave me their full attention

Was a rather large fellow in a Durag and worn clothing with sideburns down to his knees at the computer the whole time I was working on homework. He kept laughing to himself whispering "I am God etc" it was just a very strange experience.....
