We woke up early to get breakfast here and was not disappointed. The bagels are unique and delicious. I ordered one of there specialty sandwiches the “New Yorker” on jalapeño everything bagel, it was delicious everything tasted fresh. I also ordered an espresso which is what I liked, yet my girlfriend ordered coffee and was not a fan of the coffee. I can’t fault them for that because the bagels are just so delicious. Also, I was super impressed at how quickly the staff processed and served orders. The line was long, yet went by very quickly. The food was out very fast. Seating is challenging yet we found a park right outside of the Apple store.
The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this restaurant in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review. Atmosphere: I would say this place is mostly known for their bagels. After passing by it a couple of times, I really wanted to try their bagels and see how good they really are. It gets pretty crowded around lunchtime, so keep it in mind if you're thinking about dining in. This could be the reason why it is not too clean of a place. There is a variety of food here, and it can be a bit time-consuming deciding what to order. I suggest you go in knowing what you're going to order. Service: Friendly and quick. Food: I'm not a hard bagel fan, but I also don't dislike it. So, my opinion goes with that perspective. I really like salmon and turkey. Thus, I ordered the Gold Coast Sandwich and the Powerhouse Sandwich. I was not impressed by the Gold Coast to be honest, but it was not bad either. It was somewhere in the middle, if you know what I mean. The turkey one was pretty good. Overall, it was an acceptable experience. Price: The quality and flavors were somewhat okay for their prices. I mean, they are also located in midtown Manhattan, so you can expect prices to be kind of high.
One of the best bagels I’ve ever had. I don’t recall what the name was, however the bagels with meat and Swiss cheese was just incredible. So flavourful and perfect texture, the meat was tender and didn’t require a lot of biting/chewing making it a very nice on the go eating experience. Service and atmosphere was very New York-ish and exactly what I was looking for. The only area for improvement would be accessibility for strollers, there was no elevator or ramp the stairs in the entrance were quite steep. Highly recommend !!! Wheelchair accessibility: Not good.
The Rainbow bagel was honestly the best bagel I've ever tasted, and it wasn't the main thing we went there for. My daughter and I shared the cream cheese and lox bagel with scallions, tomatoes, and even avocado on an Everything, and it was awesome my daughter said best bagel sandwich she'd ever had, but the Rainbow we got on the side was my favorite by itself! Originally we got it just because it was the tourist thing to do, but I swear to you it is the best bagel I've ever tasted, it has almost a sweetness to it and I couldn't stop eating it all throughout the day despite the meals we already planned!
Really yummy bagels! Definitely a New York staple! A great place to try a traditional bagel! We liked it! However, wished the prices were up for each bagel on the board and that they had recommendations for which bagel to have with which fillings would be nice! There was a lot of choice! Minimal seating if you go around brunch time too.
The bagels were quite good, but considering the prices, they felt a bit too steep for what was offered. We ended up paying $38 for one classic bagel lox, one bagel with chicken salad, and two black coffees. It didn't quite feel like good value for money.Food: 5/5
I ordered a cream cheese and smoked salmon bagel and the single bagel cost $17. The bagel was tasty- though the addition of tomato was a bit strange. It wasn’t the best bagel I’ve ever had and I just wouldn’t recommend it for the price.Food: 4/5
Pretty busy but received order after a few minutes. Great tasting bagel with a real choice of fillings. Close to central park so was perfect to grab a bagel and a coffee and go and enjoy in the New York sunshine.Food: 5/5
Really good bagel place! They have just about everything you could want when it comes to bagel sandwiches, ingredients, and options. Very busy, but organized waiting to pickup can get messy though. I got The Works breakfast bagel sandwich, which had everything you could wish for on it, but I only gave a 4 star because it somehow still lacked a little bit in flavor. Maybe the everything jalapeño bagel overpowered it, or there just needs to be an added sauce, but overall, great! It came out hot and steamy, and had great texture!
This is Stop number 5 in my continuing journey to try every bagel place in Manhattan. We arrived at 9:45 AM and there was about 10 people in front of us. Over the next five minutes there was a line 30 people long dragging out into the street. The cashier was very polite fast to take out order and answered our questions. It was $50 for 2 bagels and an OJ + coke. Pretty nuts. But upon opening the bag, it is obvious that they are huge. They are probably the biggest sized bagels I have gotten so far. And believe it or not the price for the bagel is average to slightly below what other establishments cost for a Lox bagel. Overall, I would give the place a seven out of 10. It was absolutely nothing wrong with the bagel. It just wasn’t as good as some places and it was a little bit limited on the amount of salmon that was given. A perfectly average place to grab a bagel.
