Beautiful, huge and underutilized state park. Hiking, biking, jogging, fishing, picnics and more. Boat rides to Statue of liberty and/or Ellis Island depart from the north end. Memorial to 9/11 at the north end. Comfort and food facilities (weather permitting ). Charge for parking lot over 2 hours is $7. Free 2 hour lot is small but fills up quickly, especially summer weekend's. Liberty Science Center with new planetarium just a half mile away. Ferry to NYC Wall Street and World Trade Center departs here as well. The ferry is a great, but short, ride and an easy way to visit NYC without the hassle and expense of driving in. This park is one of NJ great secrets. Don't miss it. (Please forgive photos. Taken on a gray yukky day.)

Liberty state park was pretty nice especially in warmer weather since its near the Hudson river. The views of Jersey City, the local marina, the Statue of Liberty, and New York City are also very scenic and nice for any photography enthusiast. Take your kids or significant other for a tour around the liberty science center or walk along the old rail road lines and into the station to see a slice of history. Every time I go its always peaceful

Makes me proud of our country. Being reminded how the USA was a beacon of hope for millions of Europeans is poignant. The Statue of Liberty was also just an amazing gift from France. So fun to show the kids history in real life. If going, it’s way less crowded from the NJ side vs the Battery Park side.

One of the jewels of the NJ and NY Harbor, it offers spectacular views, a ferry to Liberty Island, a venue for family/group picnics, a playground, large open area, parking, rest rooms, and all for free. There is always a cool breeze, making it a wonderful place for heat relief in summer. Young and old love this Park. Morris Pesin would be thrilled that Liberty Park is still a working park. We all must guard it against those who would give it over to hotels, casinos or golf developers. Keep Liberty State Park as it was planned, no parsing bits to developers.

Absolutely beautiful Park great place whether you're single couple families or large groups there's plenty to do here. The history is rich and very interesting. Many facilities to accommodate whatever you would like to do. Glad to say that this is a well-preserved park. Easy access friendly staff and ample parking. Facilities are very clean and well-groomed.
