In every aspect of LCCA’s ministry, we hope to inspire you with God’s transformational Word while at the same time helping you gain the knowledge of God’s perfect will for your life in a spiritual environment. It really isn't very complicated. We don't have a new set of rules to give you, and even if we did, we're quite certain that you would just get frustrated if you tried to follow them to earn God's approval. We do want you to know about the one true God that loves you as you are, where you are.

God is doing an awesome work through this church!  I have never attended a church where the Holy Spirit is as present as it is at Sunset Hills.  The people truly love the Lord and are being used by Him to spread the Gospel throughout the world.  Pastor Dave Waters is approachable, genuine, and lives what we preaches.  The congregation is open and welcoming while the Praise Team is on-point and energetic.  Come worship with us and see what God is doing through His people!

A great church who is committed to loving Jesus and serving others. This is the first church I've been able to call family. They have a love for God's Word and that is the standard for living. Their desire is to be obedient to the commands God has given us and the Gospel is made known to those who don't yet know Jesus.

We came to Sunset Hills Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA a bit over a year ago. Our family was welcomed right away....not in an overbearing way, but in a genuine, love-of-Christ way. Each of us has had opportunities for real involvement without being pressured. The pastor, Dave Waters, has a true shepherd's heart. The elders put on regular activities which build up unity among the members and reach out to the surrounding community. The sermons are Bible based, which is of great importance to my family and to me. We have been surrounded by a Christian family at SHBC and are so glad the Lord led us to worship & grow here.

My wife, son & I had been on a search for a new church for approximately 3 1/2 months before coming to SHBC.  There was so much different about the Church compared to the other 15+ churches we'd been to in the last couple of months.  It was easy to access & had a nice, clean parking lot and church area which struck me first.  Then as we entered there were friendly faces that greeted us quickly and provided information to get us into the sanctuary for service.  We were provided programs and immediately welcomed and put at ease as we were introduced to other Godly members & parishioners.  The one thing that was different was that you could tell the Holy Spirit was alive in SHBC.  The service began with Prayer and kicked up with praise from the Praise Team which provided outstanding contemporary Gospel Music.  After the praise music and announcements, Pastor Dave Waters gave an outstanding sermon.  Pastor Dave was heartfelt and genuine and obviously well prepared which was evident in his delivery style, passion and anecdotal support from his real life experiences.  This church was definitely a breath of fresh air.  We were invited back and given information on when, where & time for the adult Bible Study.  Our son (13) was taken in w/open arms and has been mentored at every level by the associate Pastor Ryan and other members of the church through the outstanding Youth Group.  It was a pleasure from the first day and had us going back to enjoy the Love of God and Biblical principal teachings of Jesus Christ.  We continued weekly service for approximately 8 months before finally deciding to commit to joining the congregation.  We Love the people who come from all walks of life and who are a snapshot of God's kingdom from all over the world.

As a military family, we often find ourselves searching for a new church home.  After looking for several months, we happened upon Sunset Hills. The pastor is so engaging and welcoming.  The congregation is friendly but not overbearing.  The message is always applicable and non-judgmental (a rarity in most churches).  We felt right at home at this church.
